MJHolland 12,725
Wow, this is a big win for progressives Especially when you consider the tone this sets for the next 4 years like damn
Delulu Rogers 7,668
Yasssss environmental policies are literally the most important thing everyone needs to focus on. The fact that Trudeau approved it was partly to make Alberta ppl like him since he has the weakest support there. I hope we kick him out next election. He’s horrible

GagaSine 7,464
Omg amazing, I am pleasantly surprised! No offence but caring more about an economic downturn than the future of the planet is a bit moronic.
Fresco 1,688
The first 3 phases of the keystone pipeline are built. Done and functional. The XL was going to be an expansion leg to send Canadian, Montana and North Dakota oil to Texas to be refined or sold. I'm just happy that now maybe some of the oil doesn't go to Texas. There have been people in that state that have wanted to leave the USA for years. I don't trust the motives of those Texans wanting all oil to flow through Texas. It's too much power concentrated in one state in under the control of a few people. Especially given the current coup attemp and eventual calls for a new confederacy or whatever the Trump militias choose to call it. And it would have been a disaster when that thing eventually leaks, as they all do eventually.

Lovely... even though I am in support of green energy. @PunkTheFunk No it wont. Theres 2 other major pipelines that probably will finish getting built (Transmountain and Enbridge Line 3). The oil industry never needed all 3 to get built especially since with Canadas tougher climate regulations in conjunction with lower oil prices the oil sands are not forecast to grow as much as once thought anymore when all 3 pipelines were proposed. So this ends up being more symbolic than anything Of course the oil industry would rather have all 3 built to have extra shipping options, but what im saying is the impact will end up being modest if the other 2 do indeed get finished which it looks like they will Besides out of the 3 main pipelines Keystone XL had arguablely the most ecologically sensitive route so if 1 of the 3 is to get cancelled it might as well be this one
KORG 4,756
Not only should it be stopped, it should be so wrapped in red tape and bureaucratic nonsense that no president in the future will be able to touch it.

Secondly, pipelines are a far far less expensive way to transport crude oil than trucks or trains... so Big Oil profits are behind the construction and ultimalely why Trump okayed it... My take .... gov. needs to make green energy equal or a better 'profit' option for the energy companies or Big Oil will continue regardless of what Biden, the progressives or any green movement does. like a cat in a sil, I observe life, moving and still.
