Even tho I agree with you in general, we first have to find a good alternative to meat, as it serves proteins that our body needs. Also, blindly saying "ban all meat" is just as bad as not doing anything at all. Humans are omnivores, we can't just switch to herbivores from one day to another ( just look it up at Wikipedia: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Human#Diet ).

What we can do is to reduce the meat consumption so the conditions of livestock can be improved. But completely banning meat won't work in the long run, unless we give ourselves time to reduce the consumption one bit at a time to no consumption at all - but as I said, it needs a very long time.

Ew, David!

i mean, i get why they've done it but they shouldn't bow to western sentimental pressure

yes, the way they kill and eat dogs is cruel and disgusting and should absolutely be banned, but if they're raised and killed humanely it should be legal. it should be restrictions and hygiene standards, not out right banning

How do you raise and kill an animal humanly?

They die either way.

Sis. They have markets like this everywhere. Of course not just chinese ones. In the end, when all is said and done, I think once the world sees the economic damage this does, they'll do what it take to ensure they get shut down.

Yes I do know that open air markets are really common across the world, not just China. Been to several...Paris, Tokyo, Singapore...you name it.  Of course some are more fancy than others, but why would you want to ban all of them?

And then we'll ban plant-based foods once it becomes clear growing them to kill them is arguably unethical as well. :toofunny:

I know this is gonna be controversial but I am ready to have a constructive debate with any meat eater that disagrees with me.

Yay! Constructive non aggressive debate without it having to be mean

I don’t know what I think about this... yes of course I am happy, I’m a vegetarian. But on the other side I think it’s hypocritical to eat other animals but not dogs, because they look cute. Why is a sweet little piggy’s worth less? So, yes I’m happy, but I’ve mixed feelings. I hope, one day, the world will be meat free. That would be my biggest dream, but I know I’ll never experience that 😢
