You wouldn't apply the same logic to heroin, cocaine or any other drug, so why should tobacco get a pass? It's addictive, it hurts you and those around you. You're addicted? Second hand smoke can be trigger for asthma which is dangerous especially to children. ladylinners 485 Posted June 30, 2019 Share Posted June 30, 2019 The smoking ban is not telling you to stop smoking it's telling you not to smoke in public places where other people are affected by second-hand smoke such as playground and schools. I have asthma, so do three of my nieces and nephews so we do appreciate when people do not smoke around us. Our riding school, for example, has always been a smoke free zone. There was a "smoking square" if you felt the need in a corner of the parking-lot away from the facilities. What I hate most about smoking is the fact that people just throw cigarette butts everywhere. It's not very nice when you go to the playground with the kids and they pick up cigarette butts off the ground. Or snuff packets for that matter.
