It's up to you if you wanna smoke or not, so yeah I'd say it is.

Governments shouldn't meddle in what people do to their own bodies or should they pull up a ban on everything that's bad for you? Candy, fat food, alcohol etc?

People eating or drinking **** doesn't affect me. Smoking does.

Also even if it didn't have negative health impact I'd ban it purely for the smell. It's so disgusting.

I thought smoking was restricted to designated smoking areas anyway?

Sugar and alcohol are demerit goods and are often taxed by governments, so they already meddle in these areas.

I'm sorry, but trying to defend the use of cigarettes in any way is painfully stupid. You wouldn't apply the same logic to heroin, cocaine or any other drug, so why should tobacco get a pass?

It's addictive, it hurts you and those around you.

You're addicted? Then you should get the help you require, but your own addiction should never be an obstacle to my own life

Second hand smoke can be trigger for asthma which is dangerous especially to children. The's sin taxes on those things you mentioned and public health campaigns but go off I guess :flop:

The smoking ban is not telling you to stop smoking it's telling you not to smoke in public places where other people are affected by second-hand smoke such as playground and schools. I have asthma, so do three of my nieces and nephews so we do appreciate when people do not smoke around us. Our riding school, for example, has always been a smoke free zone. There was a "smoking square" if you felt the need in a corner of the parking-lot away from the facilities.

What I hate most about smoking is the fact that people just throw cigarette butts everywhere. It's not very nice when you go to the playground with the kids and they pick up cigarette butts off the ground. Or snuff packets for that matter.

Yeah I already saw your little edit. I'm not blind.

I'm not defending smoking itself. I just don't think a government should meddle in peoples choices coming up with bans that are not really helping. That's too much socialism for me.
It's naive to expect that people would simply stop smoking after this. So instead of just coming up with a ban they should come up with something to help people get rid of the addictions instead.

I’m here for this just because of the fact I hate being at a bus stop or seated outside at a restaurant and having someone smoking right next to me in my face :poot:

It takes more than one occasional second hand smoke at the bus stop for it to be harmful. If you wanna remove the second hand smoke you should ban people to smoke in their own homes as it's the family members who are in the risk zone as they're being constantly exposed to it.

THIS so much. People think that breathing one puff of smoke when walking in the street will give them cancer. Second hand smoke is harmful on a long term basis, like if your parents smoke in the home of the car. Pollution in the air caused by car and big industries is way more harmful than the occasional second hand smoke
