The 2016 Scottish Parliament electionis due to be held on Thursday 5 May 2016 to elect 129 members to the Scottish Parliament. It would be the fifth general election since the devolved parliament was established in 1999.

Polls currently are predicting an SNP landslide after 2014's referendum. In the General Election 3 months ago the SNP won 56 seats out of 59 in Scotland. Labour lost 39 whilst the Lib Dems lost 10 from 2010 general election.

Bit off topic, sorry, but what are your thoughts on the SNP? Are they as progressive as everyone thought they were? I'm from England but I haven't been following UK politics since the general election.

I am a huge SNP fan. I voted SNP in the election and will do until I die. I would say they are. They have done more for Scotland in the last 8 years than Labpur did in 50.

I seriously hope they are an Pro-union party wipe out next year like the GE. I hope it is brutal.
