Qualle1 1,385
Good time to get a final drink at the bar or to go to the bathroom before the real show starts. I want an uplifting DJ-set and nothing "alternative" like she is performing... MAKE LOVE NOT WAR

Harry 26,836
To me the meaning is expressing herself through performance art, notice how all her performances are always a different song, different outfit, a different pose. do you think if Starlight wasn't creative and nobody understood what she does do you think she'd open concerts for Judas Priest and she get paid to do those exact performances for other rock bands? What is she expressing about herself though? I wonder if you even believe what you're saying at this point. I am extremely open minded and enjoy a wide range of art but I see nothing interesting in the kind of performances she put on at the BTWB. It's essentially just a woman dancing on stage to her favourite songs having fun. If it wasn't on a stage it would just be like any other random woman in her living room doing the same thing once everybody has left the house lol

And Starlight has been dancing on stages for many years way before Gaga even met Lady Starlight so it tells me that she has talent and what she does actually appeals to people. People do enjoy watching her, even Gaga would come out sometimes from the dressing room just to watch Starlight's performances, I've heard many stories of Gaga doing that from back when she did The Monster Ball so it also projects happiness onto others too. hey I'm Doggo :derpga:

Sorry, don't buy it. You haven't convinced me at all, and it doesn't really seem like you are either tbh. And you keep trying to justify your point by saying Gaga this, Gaga that ... Gaga's thoughts and opinions aren't gospel. Try and form your own instead of hanging off of hers.

Look i believe in what i say and i can argue my point all day but i don't want to get a warning point or something, you obviously just don't understand the concept that i'm trying to explain to you but hopefully others understand what I'm saying. It's not fair to put down or hate on (not saying you were) a performance because you don't understand it. And I was referencing to Gaga, i wasn't saying Gaga's thoughts are gospel but i was saying my view points and Gaga's view points are very similar thats why i agree with a lot of the things she does like performance pieces, creative rebellion etc. So please stop trying to making out i suck up to Gaga or stick by her ever word, cause I don't at all, its just a lot of things she says or does I tend to agree with based on if i understand the meaning and message. hey I'm Doggo :derpga:

Why would you get a warning point? I don't understand because you aren't really articulating it to me very well. It is fair to put down a performance because that's how artists grow, with criticism. She's a big girl I'm sure she can handle it. I do understand it, I just don't think it's creative, artistic or anything. And tbh it does seem like you think Gaga is gospel because you've used her as a point of reference several times now as if she is the definition of art. But really this discussion doesn't have much to do with her.
gimmesomemore 0
Lady Starlight: because paying $100+ for tickets gets you gaga's homie playing indian girl to judas priest. i saw her performance. i've seen a bunch of them. she two hundred percent gives zero ****s about the fans, which is fine, just not when the fans are shelling out that kind of money. this could fly five years ago when they were stripping on the east side setting cans of hairspray on fire, but she's past that, and she should give her fans what they pay for. hundreds for an evening is a whole different ballgame than singles in your g-string. and i hate this "if i can't do what i want, i'll go back to piano bars" bs. no she won't dude. you don't go from terry and versace to stefani again, the b---h is dead, fame killed her, it's what she said she wanted and tried so hard for, and now that she's a household name she can't keep pretending that the old her is still relevant. you killed that b---h on purpose. who you used to know does not matter anymore, you've consistently shown that. you're a free b---h, so free yourself from folks that drag the show down. starlight brings the show down. it's true and you know it. fans pay for the gaga performance, not her dear friends or old colleagues or whoever the hell starlight is to her. same goes for tara. if you want to make art, fine, but if you want to SELL that art, you need to step it up a little higher than starlight two-stepping and tara's sloppy blush technique. starlight hasn't gotten past her gogo years, while gaga isn't even on the same planet. and yet she's opening. what matters more, stefani or the fans? one is still alive, and gives you a paycheck. the other one your murdered intentionally to get to where you are. and you're still not over it, still shilling amateur ass starlight. somebody had to say it. this is a pro letting a lame in on her limelight. it's not adorable or loyal, it's pity and it's sad. Again i wasn't saying that, No she isn't the definition but she is a good example because she is an artist that understands the concept of art and she is the person asking Starlight to perform, It's her show. So there must be something that she understands about Starlight and her performances that people don't get. hey I'm Doggo :derpga:

Larkin 100
yeah, just think, the performances you are dissing and saying are not artistic are the same or similar performances to what Gaga used to do with Starlight in bars and night clubs. and also who are you to judge what is Art? i think that what she does is Art, its performances art and it's her own art, you may not think its art because its not on a canvas but you have no idea how many topics the word Art can cover. Like what Millie does it art, what Starlight does is Art, Gaga makes Art, Marina Abramovic, Jeff Koons, Bob Wilson all make some form of Art. Cooking can also be classed as an Art. I agree that its art but I'm not sure that a Gaga concert is an appropriate platform. Like is she trying to make a name for herself and be famous and make money or is she just sharing her art? Because if she wants to share her art, I imagine that it could be better appreciated in a different environment. From what I understand shes a performance artist and a DJ. I dunno I'm just not sure, why the artrave and BTWball. I guess she just feels out of place because it doesn't seem like shes in it for the money, and no matter how down to earth and real Gaga gets, her popularity will likely always have a commercial entertainment aspect to it. at least to me. Personally I hope she just DJs and doesn't try to do a performance thing. I get the feeling that the entire BTW ball performance was an eff you to Gaga's fans, with maybe a dash of bemusement. I think that she resents the commercial or Pop nature of Gagas work, and see us maybe as mindless pop culture slaves. I have always had these feelings that she has suggested to Gaga that shes a sellout or something because of her success or the work she does. I don't know a lot about their duo act during the pre-fame years, but it seems like Starlight is still working from those artsy gritty indie roots while Gaga is more pop culture these days. From the moment I finished watching the sxsw Swine performance, it kept feeling like it had Starlight written all over it. Maybe it wasn't her idea, but she may have helped Gaga to do something very different from peoples expectations. The word sellout kept coming to mind, and it seemed like gaga needed to prove herself some how. To justify contempt for the charts. As we all know Gaga abhors the idea of being a one dimensional artist who's art is only influenced by money. I think that Starlight gets off on the idea of shocking or making her audience uncomfortable with her art, and the Swine performance probably impressed her a bit. I might have gotten off topic there, but those are thoughts I have been having since sxsw
RAMROD 109,394
AT this rate, we must already know that Starlight is not going anywhere tbh.
