If you look, Gaga's wave is pretty large from Nov 2009 - May 2011. Plus Google searches aren't an indicator of popularity, just interest. Everyone wanted to see her VMA performance. In my opinion, things that are more indicative of popularity are Twitter/Facebook followers, sales & tour stats. Things like Google searches, video views and radio listening don't have to be invested in, whether it be your time or money, in comparison to the first ones I named. Miley was HUGELY relevant at one stage, the most talked about pop star etc.. But has it had a lasting impression on her sales etc? Not really. I guess we'll see how her tour does.
