Remus 54
That will depend on the direction she goes with this album. If she goes back to her roots (One Of The Boys) she won't be as successful but if she keeps the TD direction she will be very successful. which, for simplicity, is called "selling out". Andertxu 2
Gaga debuted at #1 with 450K copies sold just in 3 days. She's releasing Applause on Monday, which implies there's a full debut week. Slayage coming.
Jonathan2244 1,858
Hmm Think Full Week Plus 630k and that record?
Bt1 5,213
Is her streaming power comparable to 1D though? All her videos on YouTube have great numbers. 1D would probably have stronger opening week sales than Katy, wouldn't they? They're not exactly a force to be reckoned with in terms of single success, but their massive and dedicated fan base surpasses that of Katy's. Part of me had a bigger opening than Best song ever. jhonyguy04 3
What if Katy gets a number 1 but Gaga doesn't? What will you guys do? I know I can't show myself to Kittiieesss!! not specifically number one. because Bad Romance ended up as #2, and it slayed....it's if we get overshadowed by Katy, we will be doomed. We will be cindi lauper/xtina aguilera.
Hamlet 67
Gaga's lead single won't be overshadowed by Katy's. Gaga has a bigger and more supportive fan base and it's Lady Fuking Gaga, people want to know what the monster of pop has in stores this time and what crazy(out of the box) outfits/performances she has. Lady Gaga's lead single creates more buzz.
Sexxx 5,623
Applause will get an even bigger buzz than Roar, because it's going to be released after it. People will NEED to see if Gaga's song is better than Katy's, so they'll be eager to listen to it and watch it. Also, it's clever how (potentially) Gaga's video will be out before Katy's. Gaga won't suffer from the usual "copycat" hate if some parts of the videos are similar and Katy will have a HUGE amount to live up to with the Applause music video
