TaylorSwift 161,273
What do you think about shortening songs to fit on one LP? Olivia Rodrigo shortened songs on the vinyl so it would fit on 1 LP but she didn't tell her fans about it and many fans regretted buying her vinyl records. https://store.taylorswift.com
Controversiaga 15,560
EDIT: ooooo they literally shorted it FOOOR the vinyl um … I guess, go off, let’s be honest - we’re still gonna be streaming more than spinning when we wanna listen the vinyl gets listened to once maybe and then gets hung up on the wall as art Edited Friday at 10:06 PM by Controversiaga Pronounced like “Balenciaga” . Pigatha 1,198
If I were a fan of hers, I would prefer to purchase a 2 LP album instead, and if she/the label isn't willing to do that then maybe consider that when deciding what songs go in the album. Also 40 bucks for a SINGLE LP vinyl is bizarre to me, absolutely not lol. Also the run time already seems to be cutting it close to where sound quality starts being sacrificed. definitely just cutting corners here. jacs vs looser 5,114
How is that even allowed? Sounds super scammy tbh.
Future Lovers 7,414
I’m not a huge fan of it but it certainly reduces the amount of plastic required to manufacture and I do see that as an overall positive. Most albums don’t need to be on 2 LPs.
PartySick 172,073
Someone who's purchasing "so many variants" probably doesn't care Stream the songs, put the vinyl on display somewhere Whimsical bitch
gagzus 21,660
I mean if it was spoken about and transparent before the LP dropped, then sure it’s fine. But otherwise it feels like a marketing tactic akin to Taylor Swift. “You only get so much of the songs on this album, so to hear the full one you must purchase another copy of the song or album separately, or stream it” is how it reads to me. Removing up-to 30 seconds of songs is the equivalent or removing an entire segment of the song. That’s a whole verse or chorus or bridge or outro removed.
princedeeblebleble 3,356
What?! how do you even justify that?!
AVeryGagaHolyDick 31,444
I mean, why not, but be transparent about it
Anderson123 42,337
Babylon Haus Labs got removed from vinyl for this reason. I think it’s an interesting thing to do to fit the entire album in one vinyl so it’s not as wasteful. Most people who listen to Olivia’s music are doing it on streaming so they get to hear the full version, her LPs are mostly for collection so it’s fine but probably should’ve explained it before.
