Suddenly people became huge fans of musicals huh. :ororomunroe::icant:

Musicals can be amazing if they are done properly. The music in Joker 2 did not work and served as a series of annoying interruptions that did not even rise to the level of a full musical number most of the time

Wicked is my favorite musical ever, so I really hope it is at least as good as the stage play.

Too many movies over 2.5 hours these days. And this is just part one…

Jonathan Bailey better be in all 2.5 hours of this.

I wish Gaga could’ve been considered for this project instead of Joker. She would’ve been an amazing Elphaba, however, Cynthia is a great and smart choice given the depth of her story in the movie. Congrats to all involved!

Still not a fan of Cynthia as Elphaba. Something doesnt look right imo, in terms of how all the actresses I saw looked on stage. They all had quite similar face structures, sharp jaws. Idk. When I see Cynthia I dont see that.

Also the music clips we heard so far, not a fan. The clarity of the words they are singing is missing sometimes, which is essential for musicals imo. Also, the Defying Gravity belt in the trailer and she did last week at a talkshow sounds thin, and she tries to cover it by adding waaaaay to much of a riff.

But maybe I am picky since Wicked is my favorite musical. But nothing beats Willemijn Verkaik as Elphie for me
