No changes to form factor to be seen. Maybe there'll be practical differences though or the dock mechanism will be different. 1 hour ago, homomo said: Nintendo’s philosophy is to keep their consoles affordable, so any average consumer can pick it up and play. I bet they are targeting an MSRP of no more than $399 USD. If they included an OLED screen, they’d probably have to either sell the console at a loss (or significantly less profits) or raise the price (which I’m sure they don’t wanna do either) Nintendo does not sell consoles at a loss. That said, I don't understand how they could not profitably include OLED screens. Not only do they have better color contrast, but the screens should use less power too. It makes no sense considering they will be using 14 year old technology.

I’ve always been a Nintendo kid so I’m excited either way. I meant more that it seems like this is more of a hardware update than a brand new system. I wonder what Nintendo will do to avoid that confusion that led to the Wii U flopping. Most people didn’t bother with Wii U because they “already have a Wii” and never realized it was brand new. Regardless, the switch is amazing and I’m sure they’re doing everything not to end up in a slump again.

As an OLED fanatic, let me tell you it will always be better than the best LCD there is. Honestly this is probs just to make money out of a Switch 2 OLED in the future. Like how are they ok with a predecessor console having objectively a better screen in terms of contrast than a next gen console. It’s kinda embarrassing me thinks. Sure, they probably will do a Switch 2 OLED because they like money, but I don't care. Not everyone cares as much about the screen, and some people won't play it handheld at all--I think for those people, having a cheaper option without the best screen is perfectly fine. Tons of people basically only play on TVs, let them have a cheaper option.

I’ll try my best here! S1 is the OG Switch (Oled version) and S2 is the Switch 2. Processor: S1 = Nvidia Tegra x1 S2 = GMLX30-R-A1 (new SoC) Storage: S1 = 64gb S2 = 256gb RAM: S1 = 4gb DDR4 S2 = 12gb DDR5 There’s also some major upgrades in other areas. The S1 used passive cooling, where as thr S2 will be using dual fans plus a copper heatsink. The S1 has a resolution of 720p (1080p when docked), and the S2 is rumoured to be 1080p (handheld) and use DLSS to achieve 4k when docked. S2 also has gigabit Ethernet, unlike the S1. There’s also an improved audio chip and nfc reader, but I didn’t look into those too much. Hope this helps! 0110100001100101011011000110110001101111
