Not gonna wear masks and isolate myself from people forever on the off chance a more dangerous mutation appears. Viruses tend to mutate to weaker versions over time, not stronger. It's irrational to say we should mask up and distance indefinitely "just in case"

Its STILL a plague WW... not every country has enough vaccine supply yet and capacity still needs to be ramp up, and cases are high still too Of course every virus mutates... but when u have a more deadly virus than most thats still circulating in the millions of cases WW... thats a lot of variants that can pop up at once and make things more difficult to handle than it needs to be. No one said anything about forever. But were still in a pandemic. Hence my opinion. And frankly i find ppl are such sissies to complain about using a piece of cloth to go somewhere indoors for an hour or two. I have to wear a heavy grade respirator at my work for 8h a day in extreme heat and somehow manage without complaining. Ppl cant even handle a piece the inconvinience of cloth or fabric that at this stage in pandemic can potentially still save lives directly or indirectly U can disagree with my opinion about masks but please dont call it neurotic. Its not some baseless out of whack opinion based on nothing. Were still not at a point where this virus is just the ordinary flu and we have other Countries to think about too

I'm saying neurotic in the most endearing way possible as I'm a neurotic person, lol. I'm only talking US, not the world. I'm sure it makes sense to mask, socially-distance, etc. in countries where the hospitalization/deaths rates are still soaring. But in the US, we are now averaging about 150 deaths a day — a tiny fraction compared with the pandemic's peak, so we are at the end or virtually at the end of the pandemic here. If it's not "forever" then I ask what is your criteria for dropping masks and distancing? Is it a period of time? Do the deaths have to be all the way down to 0 (will never happen)? If you're saying we need to continue with masks, etc you need to put a goal post instead of just "for now"

If a country increases cases or starts a new variant it can and does make it overseas I definitely think were heading in the right direction. But i just think this virus is not finished being a big threat and anything that can help supress it for the moment should be done even if some ppl dont like the inconvinience Obviously the vaccines we now have are the biggest tool and need to be pressed on against those who refuse. But other tools like masks for the time being help also.
