Correct me if I'm wrong but in a few of these instances a heated protestor would defy the cops or attack them, and that's when the situation would escalate into a violent rivalry between police and people. Not saying that the police is in any way right in reacting the way they are since their job should be maintaining order rather than destroying it, but I feel like many of these events are just set up for chaos. It would make more sense imo for it to be "honor the count" once the count is actually done. *That* would be protesting Trump trying to take things to court. But the way this protest is centered it makes it sound like there is actually intention to stop the count on the part of courts, state offices, etc. and that it isn't just Trump losing his sh*t as per usual, which is patently false. So while I'm inclined to agree with you to a degree, their coming out *now* gives the implication of a different scenario which I think just makes the situation more fraught than it already is. Even Google ffs bumped Trump's twitter from top search results when you literally search "trump twitter". He's not being supported. I'm not doubting him, but I'm saying being overzealous in a chaotic time could also have bad results. What reason is there to take to the streets demanding that people count the vote when that is literally happening, Trump can't change that, and by the time courts even attempt to get involved again the count will be done? Already courts sided against Trump. It isn't like they're at court houses or polling places either so I'm just not seeing the effectiveness of this particular protest at this particular time. Of course, I'm willing to listen to otherwise As clarification, I despise the police so this is not victim blaming or a siding with cops. Just a bit of confusion is all. ACAB.
