U.S. surpasses 4M COVID cases

Reopening would have been fine (we have to reopen, jobs and businesses are being completely destroyed), but the problem is that people are not following any sort of rules when the reopening happens. When the bars reopened everybody took off the mask and gathered shoulder to shoulder. Then everyone went to the beaches. Then everyone went to protest (still happening). The government mandates are a good idea, but the people are not following ANY sort of orders when given even the slightest leeway.

California has reopened too fast? :ladyhaha: didnt they respected every possible rule?

What about the states who never closed or opened sooner than California, Florida and Texas and that are fine?

Stop cherry picking states, while ignoring the other states or countries who show how wrong you are.

Yes, they opened too fast between levels. No, they didn’t follow every rule.

The facts show that hospitalizations are as high as they were in the spring.

Wearing masks, social distancing and keeping certain businesses closed and others with controlled amount of people will help slow the virus.

Scientific paper shows that 200,000 deaths were prevented in Italy BECAUSE of the lockdown: https://www.pnas.org/content/117/19/10484

UK entered a lockdown late at now has a lot more deaths than necessary. They have the highest numbers in Europe: https://edition.cnn.com/2020/06/09/uk/uk-coronavirus-deaths-ons-intl/index.html

A week earlier could have cut the numbers in half:

Good article with some links to other sources:

It's fairly simple: Covid-19 spreads exponentially and a lockdown breaks this chain. However, it must be implemented early and not lifted too soon in order to have the best effect. And it should be followed by other steps.

Werent u the one who said that lockdowns arent "forever"? And yet 5 months werent enough. It was too "fast". Make up your mind. :fail:

Wear masks, take all the precautions u can. Just dont expect that a flu-like virus can stay away forever unless you close your doors "forever" - aka until at least a vaccine comes out.

And keep ignoring the truth.

All your articles and points u make can be destroyed easily.

Half a year into this situation and you still dont understand that the simple fact that all the countries count their deaths in different ways makes very hard comparasions between countries.

I guess u also are unfamiliar with the fact that UK is looking at their numbers because they found some major problems with the way they have been reported.

You ignore Belgium, the no 1 country in Europe when it comes to deaths because it destroys the "lockdown works" spam as it had a lockdown. And because you dont really know more than what the spam news told you, you really have no idea why Belgium is no1.

You mention that covid is "exponentially spread" and yet u dont explain how some countries like Sweden stopped that spread without a lockdown. Yes, I know Sweden is a failure by some fake standards and yet it never had hospitals overwhelmed, never was no 1 by deaths and US with its extended lockdowns will soon catch up their deaths numbers.

But of course, let's ignore all that, find that state that fits our beliefs and move on to the next one next month, when it doesnt fit it anymore. If this strategy worked for half a year, why it wouldn't work anymore? It's not like people know more than the headlines. :huntyga:

States were not locked down for five months. And they aren’t forever, that is correct.

Covid is more contagious and more deadly than the flu. Covid also causes long term damage to many that survive it.

The propaganda that you have bought into is both inaccurate and dangerous.

You don't even live here. You aren’t seeing the local news the rest of us are seeing. You don’t know friends, co-workers and family that are being impacted directly by this virus.

Deaths in US are still lower than many countries when you take into consideration population.

I know that Sweden strategy is controversial and dont want to get into that discussion. I would only mention that their numbers are lower than of some countries who had lockdowns.

Returning to the subject on this topic, why the number of cases goes up and yet the deaths are going down?

The US is something along the lines of 7th worst mortality rate and make up around 5% of the worlds population. So, we have close to 1/4 of the total number of reported deaths due to covid and only have around 5% of the worlds population. Your statement is entirely wrong.

I only gave u stats that u ignore like u always do.

U gave the propaganda. I pointed to u u dont know what are u talking about.

And u continue with propaganda. U live in UK, Sweden or other states? All the people here that comment on x country live there? No. People use stuff like this only when they lose the argument, which u did multiple times. :applause:

Yes, US is catching up Sweden, the "failure" country.

But your comparasions make little sense. Almost every country in the world has a bigger % of deaths than its population, because there are still some lucky countries who managed to escape the virus.

It makes perfect sense. Despite having a small percentage of people in the world, we have among the greatest percentages of reported deaths worldwide. So that obviously means that what the US is doing is not very successful.

Honestly what's the big deal about wearing a mask?:saladga:  I can't at masks still being doubted as an effective way to slow down the spread  we don't have a vaccine so how else are those anti-maskers meant to protect themselves/ their loved ones?? I bet y'all that those anti-maskers are the same ones who were crying about lock-down as well
