I don't know the numbers, but many people who are surviving covid have lingering symptoms and potentially life-long problems. It's too early to know yet. Personally, I don't think that surviving a mild case, only to end up with permanent lung damage or organ failure or brain damage or other lovely side effects is "good news." Stay home as much as you can, wear a f*cking mask when you can't, keep your physical distance from people who don't live in your household, wash your hands, and maybe we can get this thing under control and get back to normal soon. We social distance and wear masks, but staying home is a luxury many can't afford. yes there are essential workers all over the globe. i'm more so talking about the people who can't go without their dinner dates with their husbands, who insist on going for picnics in national parks etc etc. i've seen too many americans cry that its in their right to go out and enjoy themselves with the thought that it's their american freedom and they're "healthy and wont catch it", whilst completely being oblivious to the fact that they could be carriers and spreading it to the vulnerable. While there are Americans who feel like a mask is somehow impeding on their rights, most of us now are wearing them. Especially in states like NC where it is mandated to go into any public building with a mask. These threads are made only for some of you who are waiting for any chance to hate on America. There are so many of us Americans who follow the rules. Who listen to scientific guidelines and who genuinely care about the people around us. Maybe you’re one of the Americans who does not? But don’t come in here and disrespect the Americans who are heding every warning and taking every measure. And please don’t speak for us. Why a number is going up and the other one is going down?
