I'm gonna disagree with you here because I've been listening to both mellow and calming music and upbeat pop music. Pop music makes me happy, it rises my spirits in a weird and scary time where the future of society and the world can't be predicted. It's a little piece normality and of happiness that makes this sad time more enjoyable. Chromatica is just what I'm going to need in two weeks, and it will make me extremely happy when I get to play it max volume in my car on the highway

Don't get me wrong, I'm excited for the music - but a lot of what I love Gaga for is her passion. 

I'm not even talking about promo, really. 

I just love knowing that the music I'm listening to comes from a place of true excitement and authenticity, from an artist with passion. 

She has shown zero interest / passion for this project, which, for me - whilst I will love the music for what it is - will change the experience of this album for me. I will not be able to emotionally connect to it the same way, since it is the first album from Gaga, imo, that feels disconnected from what she truly wants to do. 

And I don't care what it is that she wants to do. 

Whether it be a jazz record, a country record or an opera album... whatever Gaga releases, if it's supported by a vision and passion and enthusiasm, I'll support it and take it to my heart. 

It's a shame because I think Chromatica will be one of my favourite Gaga albums and I love the concept, but it's lacking the most important thing for me... and that's, well, Gaga, lol.

Gaga literally can’t shut up about her albums, she talked so much about ARTPOP & Joanne, you could see & feel her passion and excitement but with Chromatica I don’t feel it.

The reason is bc the world is so different now with the pandemic, streaming is down overall and you have to grab people's attention. I think that's why she's concentrating the hype/promo to just before the album release. If she was hyping up the album all month, people might get bored or tired. Reaching "overexposure" is completely different now, she has to be careful. 

Everything's going to explode next week with the release of ROM, and it will pique interest in the album which will only be a few days away. The hype is better to stay reserved until just before release.

I know that but visuals & promo have always been a huge part of Gaga’s eras and this era has little to no promo.

Tbh, I'm still excited for it. However, if there's not any hype for it, we wouldn't be discussing it, and that alone shows that there's still hype behind it regardless of Gaga not doing anything about it right now.

well I think this album was created during a happier time for her & everybody but since then the world has some to a major crisis and she literally told us that this is not her priority  yeah its unfortunate but..I'm happy to know that at a time like this, we Stan a woman who has her priorities straight!  She is selfless.  and on top of that, we get a whole new album! if you look at it that way, its a win-win

I think we're forgetting a bit what the original plan of this album was.  All that was forced to be scrapped and everything planned had to be changed last second.  I have no doubts Gaga had passion for this project (Ari, BP, and EJ collabs are not to be taken lightly).  And to throw those projects into an album where you're like "meh" is incomprehensible.  I'm not saying Gaga is handling Chromatica correctly, but I think it's a bit unfair to say she has shown zero interest

The dramatics in this thread  Blade said that she’ll start teasing on the 18th. Can’t you have even an ounce of patience? And stop comparing it to FN. That’s Dua’s second album so obviously she’ll be more excited. Do you even remember what Gaga was like during her second album release? Nobody can compare to that. Tbh I can’t wait for the day Gaga permanently moves away from this ‘fanbase’ and focuses on her own life and happiness.

I'm looking forward to the actual music but there's not exactly going to be an era to speak of. She can't do much but go on Instagram and release the actual songs at this point... Where's the excitement for her? She can't even perform properly, I doubt sitting in her house with a piano is going to make it worth it all. I fully understand if it killed her buzz, if it has. No clubs, no parties, no TV performances, interviews (with audiences and a stage), paparazzi photos, festivals, any public appearances of any kind... That's half the fun of it.. she's already heard the music.

Saying that, I'm sure there will be some things she's excited about. There will be interviews of some sort I'm sure. And she will probably show some interest in Rain On Me.

Or this is all part of her plan and when she starts she won't stop!
