How Many Tracks Would Suffice?

I could see 10-13 tracks on a regular album with a few bonus tracks available only on physical copies of the album (like those Target special editions, etc.).

This is the way to get sales tbh. Reeks of desperation but that's how you get sales now. Taylor took that to its limit.

Look at how many songs there are on Lover. Since it was a highly anticipated album, people streamed the entire album and every single song charted.

You have to build hype though.

I believe Gaga still have the hype. Albeit less than what she had early of this year. I hope she can still build up the hype for Gaga music when she is releasing LG6 (whenever that is :messga:).

Yeah monsters will take anything she throws at us. She'll still have to do a viral performance or something to get the GP's attention. This is why in a perfect world she'd do INLA at the Grammys. Not happening though lol

10 -13. Any more and it could risk being too long. I hope the songs are longer than 3 minutes too.

Yeah aside from Telephone, I much prefer her 4 minute plus songs. 3 minutes seems entirely too short.

Yeah, most of them do it nowadays (special editions, "bonuses" with physical copies, bonus tracks, etc.).  Can't blame them—6 tracks count as one album "streamed" right, but it's like a thousand streams of one freaking album to be considering the equivalent of a physical copy sold? It's how Ariana has sky high streaming numbers, but TUN isn't in the top five of best selling albums of 2019. Taylor doing four different versions of a physical album was over kill, though.

If Gaga does bundling (something like Harry Styles's concert deal) and bonus tracks only on physical albums, she can do pretty good numbers imo. ASIB's soundtrack opened with nearly 250k albums and that was with barely any promo for the soundtrack—not even a late night show appearance for Gag's to belt out Shallow. Plus, there weren't any "tricks" to boost the sales. I feel like LG6 can easily open with at least 280-300k (possibly up to 400k) IF Interscope pulls the usual tricks.

Not sure INLA will get the public's attention for LG6, though, and I doubt the Grammys would want her to perform a lead single for her new album (I know the past, but still). Usually the tracks/albums that get the big boosts are the ones that win the main categories or already have a lot of buzz going into the show (and the show amplifies the buzz)—Kacey, Shallow, etc. H.E.R. barely got a sales boost even though her performance was highly acclaimed.

But yeah, she needs to do something. Go on SNL or do a couple of performances on late night shows the opening week.

The reason I say INLA would get their attention is because (theoretically) she would nail the vocals and it would be another Oscars 2015 moment where her flawless vocals wow the GP and they make it viral saying "wow she can sing". And now ASIB will be old enough that it'll bring some nostalgia.

I thought ARTPOP's length was perfect. Almost exactly an hour long at 15 tracks :flutter:

Of course that's ruined now though :neyde:

🌸Flourishing and vibrant🌼
