I don't understand how the Tories can win just based on face value alone. I mean, I can understand more wealthier people down south voting for them but everywhere else, it just doesn't make sense.

This is what bamboozles me the most.

Their policies and beliefs benefit no one but the elite. They refuse to answer key questions and give interviews and just stick their head in the sand. They have had repeated scandals and bad press incidents. They evidently can't even "GeT BrExIT DoNe" so I don't see how they are appealing to leave voters either :saladga:

Why they remain so popular, or perhaps a better question why people can't see through the whole scam of it all, I cannot fathom.

I can’t really say much about the previous elections but the reason why they have probably been forecast so many seats is heavily and I mean HEAVILY due to brexit. They are the only party saying the will deliver it. The Lib Dem’s are the opposite end of the spectrum and people kick off saying they clearly don’t respect democracy, Labour is neutral which personally I think is the best way to be because they literally are giving us a choice and a second chance to decide what we want, but people oppose them because they think “Corbyn can’t make his mind up!!!!!!!!!”

Most people are sick of brexit and want it to end which ever way, even as a remainer I am sick of it and just want it out the way because it’s taking away from the important issues going on here. I know a lot of people who are leavers but labour and Lib Dem die Harders, but are voting Tory because they THINK brexit will be done if the tories get the majority... which will not happen because you cannot push a divorce deal, agree terms, pass legislation, have a grace period where we leave slowly and then come out in less than 2 months which is what they are promising

i feel like it's because this election has fallen into a two-party showdown and people who don't like Corbyn are voting Tory. I hope people realise although Corbyn is an ass, you're voting for a party and their political views. Conservatives ruined the entire industry sector for the North in the 80s and never since then have they helped us back into the fold, their brexit outcome (which will basically be no-deal alongside the deals with the US that will ruin the NHS for good) will ruin what's left and we'll fall into political anarchy and probably the worst recession and it wouldn't surprise me if eventually down the line we have to ration our supplies. Corbyn is the Hilary to Johnson's Trump and i'd take the lesser of two evils.

Lib Dem tactical vote. But it looks like Tories will win by a landslide. Which means Brexit will be steamrolled through and we'll probably plunge into a recession so severe it makes the 2008 financial crisis look like a minor blip.

Corbyn either needs to resign on Friday or Labour members should do the honourable thing and stage a mutiny to force him out.  He has destroyed the opposition and thereby allowed a far-right cult of Tory MPs to destroy the UK. Unforgivable.

You know who would be an excellent Labour leader imo?

Literally all this. And its crazy because people in Scotland have another option, and so do the people in Wales. But they get sucked into the "two party fight" and people end up voting Labour or Tory. If you are Scottish or Welsh you can vote for the SNP or Plaid Cymru if you don't like Labour or the Tories. In England, you could vote Green or Lib Dem but the don't have much influence.

People in Scotland don't tend to vote Tory, and they only got those seats cause they faught the election on "vote for us to stop independence". Hope they don't make the same mistake again and vote SNP to get the tories out.

Yes, or Keir Starmer. But anything could happen in 5 years.

Honestly I think the best hope for the Labour party is a young fresh face that working people can get onboard with (i.e. a straight married mildly attractive white man without a chequered past). Once the Tories have driven this country into the ground by 2024, and everybody will be suffering the real-life consequences of Brexit, they'll be looking for someone to give them hope, which the Tories won't be able to give them anymore. A relatively unknown, untarnished MP might be able to end the Tory reign of terror IMO. It will be about 15 years of Conservative power by that point so history dictates their time will come to an end.

Then again, we're living in a different world now where lies have become the new truth. I'm sure Rupert Murdoch could probably manipulate lots of stupid Daily Mail readers into voting Tory again even when they're losing their jobs left right and centre.

Make sure that if you vote to only put one "X" beside one candidate, not two or more. Make sure that the "X" goes inside the box and not outside it. We don't want any spoiled votes
