ctherainbow 3,162 Posted September 19, 2019 Share Posted September 19, 2019 The residential districts of DC should really just be sliced away from the federal government district and either made their own state or added to Maryland/Virginia. The federal district shouldn’t be beholden to any state, and should remain independent, but the residents of DC need to have voting representation in Congress. I'm talkin' 'bout forever, baby. D.C. has to follow federal and a local government laws (congress is at the top of this local government) and do not pay any state taxes.
