I'll never love again

Both ARUTW and INLA were drowned in the Shallow's immense success. I can't decide which one I like more... I still dream of an iconic awards ceremony performance of INLA like Adele's Someone Like You @ Brit Awards .. :flutter:

Well it's a single in France and is getting some playlist exposure and also it got a lot of views on youtube so it's a step higher than an album track. :laughga: Gotta appreciate what we have.

Higher than an album track and half of her post 2013 so

tbh I'll Never Love isn't that memorable imo. Its melody is a little clunky and sounds a little too similar to I'll Always Love You. ARUTW was the true missed opportunity. That song could have been another signature hit for Gaga along with Shallow but they wasted their chance with it.

I disagree, ARUTW is too country sounding to be a hit anywhere other than the states.

Everyone watch these reactions:

These are good reactions. I'm learning classical singing too and yes, it's an amazing, amazing performance especially since she doesn't use her head voice much but does it extensively here.

But it's probably not the best vocal performance of all time by her. Most challenging for her? Probably. Best? Probably not. She is capable of more.

Well I'd love to think she is capable of more... I really want to see her belt higher and even try higher on her head voice and get that richer and fuller... not sure if she'll be capable of whistle tones but would love to see her get higher, as well as a deeper and fuller lower register

However, having said that, the vocal performance and excellence displayed in I'll Never Love Again is her best performance of all time so far.  There isn't a perfomance that comes close to it.

She has belted F#s before. Do What U Want (including live performance) have that. That's higher than anything on INLA (highest E). In the Joanne World Tour, she belted a G during Applause! Of late, she has struggled with high belts a bit (with her voice breaking on even the Eb in Shallow, live) but she did do the Eb (in Paparazzi) at the Jazz show I went to perfectly in her modal voice.

I believe she is able to use the whistle register, just not consistently enough to sing in it, so she chooses not to. You can hear whistle in some of her exclamations and other effects she has done live. But yeah, probably not good enough for actual singing.

Higher in head voice would be nice. She sings much more in head voice than before but I believe she hasn't done higher than a B5 (Diggin My Grave).

Her low register is already quite nice and gravely when she wants it to be. Of late she's been using the more sensitive side of it which I appreciate. She's a mezzo after all (not contralto), so she won't have an extremely resonant low but it's more resonant than most singers'. Think of the low notes in Til It Happens To You.

While INLA is excellent, I disagree. I will find some performances later today and post them here that vocally exceed INLA.

The most impressive part of INLA is the delicate low head voice and the same exact notes then belted in her modal voice. You may not think it's particularly impressive because of the instrumentation but she did that exact same think in Government Hooker. (The "Gaga" in her head voice in the beginning is around a C5 and goes to around F5 - same range as the INLA chorus. The rest of the song is belted).
