This chick ain't been relevant since 2006's COTDF and every fanbase dislikes her now and know that she tries too hard to be 20 when she's 60. i almost agree although Hard Candy was relevant. Gaga says that on FF2, but that's not true, and not what she actually says. The interviewer asks Madonna how she felt when she heard BTW... If it felt annoying... And Madonna replied: 'It feels reductive.' So no, Madonna wasn't talking about Gaga as a person or an artist, but about how it felt when she heard BTW. This is just a completely fabricated feud that fans on both sides love to keep alive. I mean BTW is Gaga's work, it'll still hurt her, right? ι'м ρυℓℓιηg үσυя sтяιηgs
Bloodyjack 794
She's copied off Marilyn, Mansfield, Grace Jones, Cher etc. But to be honest I don't play the "copy" card. The way are look at it. Everything is a slight reduction of something, whether intentional or not
Rio 5,088
Madonna ain’t so original herself. She stole Sam Harris’s single “Sugar Don’t Bite” in the 80s and had a huge lawsuit come her way. And guess what? “Papa Don’t Preach” ripped that song off so much and she essentially got away with it. Listen to the two songs and they sound so similar, and it makes the Born This Way comparisons in 2011 seem so ridiculous!

All artists have had to deal with them. How many has Gaga had in her 10 year career? Plenty... Did any of them stick? No... Same with Madonna. Isn’t Madonna entitled to feel something as well? Madonna wasn’t even the person that drew comparisons in the first place. As soon as the music came out, all publications right and centre, from Rolling Stone to Consequence Of Sound, were saying that BTW was a rip-off of Express Yourself. Those are facts... And Madonna simply said how she felt, which she was entitled too. There’s no reason for either side to be playing the victim. I honestly think that both Gaga and Madonna could have dealt better with the situation. The media and fans love a feud between female popstars, so of course that fueled the whole thing as well. shane_c 480
What's ironic is BTW doesn't even sound like EY but Express Yourself is a blatant ripoff of a song called Respect Yourself by The Staple Singers. .
AlejandroooO 515
What annoys me the most is that Gaga is the most kind and peacful person ever and she's hurted but for the loving person that she is she can't respond to the ill mannered old lady which has been a bitch for 60 years. Wikipedia is a good start. Madonna is an icon and legend, and no female pop star has even come close. How is that disrespectful and delusional lmfao Go to the page of the Razzies, she is the most nominated as the worst actrees in the history of the show / they even gave her a special award for that reason If you listen her 80's records all of them have literally the same sound every other 80's record have, there's nothing innovative about it, and all of her '10s records are dated EDM, shes been jumpin in trends with HC, MDNA and RH, nothing special, COADF is a Kylie disco record and the only interesting records she has all of them were made in the 90s E, BTS, ROL & M All of her material girl image is a ripoff of Marilyn Monroe and more of her earlier looks are a ripoff of Debbie Gibson from Blondie, Marilyn and other women The only thing we all agree is that she is HYPERSEXUAL, which is why she did SEX, she opened the door for a more sexualised image to the rest of pop girls and the reason she made Erotica, but if you look closesly is just because probably she's so Hypersexualixed that everything in her career is about sex, after a few eras that gets boring and PREDICTIBLE af Still an icon and legend bla bla... her legacy would be much better if AL were her last record tbh 𝗟𝗮𝗱𝘆 𝗚𝗮𝗴𝗮 • 𝗠𝗮𝗻𝗱𝘆 𝗠𝗼𝗼𝗿𝗲 • 𝗦𝗼𝗽𝗵𝗶𝗲-𝗘𝗹𝗹𝗶𝘀 𝗕𝗲𝘅𝘁𝗼𝗿 • 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝗶𝘀 𝗝𝗮𝗰𝗸𝘀𝗼𝗻
Saeed 1,937
Did any of you people watch the interview after the 'reductive' part? She complimented Gaga and she doesn't think she copies her. Love how the media blows things out of context.
Didymus 34,379
No one was affected. Both Gaga and Madonna (and their fanbases) kept that fake feud alive for their own benefit.

Well yeah she can say how she feels for sure but saying it was reductive means she thought gaga copied Express yourself while reducing it to less than what it was. Basically she says it's not as rich as "her version". It's quite dismissive to say lol and she knew well that gaga was a big fan of her so that wasn't very cool. I don't think that they were really mad at the "reductive" comment only by the way. It's more about the fact she shaded her several times so some monsters saw it as ferity and stirring the pot.
