CroatiaGeisha 19
Here's another. I stan for Erotica. This song is soooooo about my ex-boyfriend. Too bad she's never done this one live it's a bloody fantastic song. This is seriously one of my absolute favorites And I discovered it very randomly, around last year when I was trying to become more familiar with M's music! I feel like it's brutally underrated. I notice how most pop fans prefer highly energized songs but the mellow feel >>>>>
DaEdgeOfGloryYo 0
It did happen, it's just Madonna's PR people deny that she was personally behind it. No it didn't, come on, when has Madonna done that ever?
GlitterGrease 53
I'd die. How about a medley of Cherish/Into the Groove for 30 minutes with an hour long encore of Vogue in every genre possible I'd be satisfied
Farmboy 0
I was in love with this bis-xual boy who cheated on me with a girl. He was full of lies and broke my heart. That's the brief version of the story. Erotica came out around the time we broke up so the song "Waiting" was kinda my anthem at the time. Ohhh I thought you meant the song Erotica. Yes, Waiting is a good one to listen to when you're mad.
Guest theFuture
It did happen, it's just Madonna's PR people deny that she was personally behind it. This false rumor is such a wonderfully staged act in the book of the 21st century's media. Because it fits with the wrong image created of Madonna. Because it fits with the wrong image created of Madonna. I agree I can't determine the validity of the rumor, but "wrong image"? Umm.....maybe she's not like this the entire time, but Madonna has been extremely diva-ish and b---hy in the past. So it's not exactly a false image for her to be nasty to other people on occasion. Chucky 39
I'm a fan of her music (through The Fame Monster, and maybe half of Born This Way) not as big a fan of the person since Born This way. Much the same way you feel about Madonna I feel about Lady Gaga. There's times when she's great and I love her. BTW promo tour performances for example. But the interviews this era were wretched and made my respect for her go down a notch. Also, I don't like Gaga portraying herself as a victim. You write an awesome song about strength (Scheisse) and then go out and it's like the opposite of what she preaches. I also do not like the way she handled the Born This Way fiasco by thanking Whitney Houston. Madonna was always my number one favorite, but Gaga was my second favorite. It doesn't seem u belong on a fan site dedicated to GaGa tbh. Quote from my Mom, no joke. "Madonna is picked on by the press because she's always been a royal **** and ***** not because of her age." I can't even at my Mother. P.S. she stans for GaGa. I ****ing live ur mom. :laughga:
DaEdgeOfGloryYo 0
"Lady Gaga has famously launched an anti-bullying campaign, but her fans have racked up a pretty long list of bully victims in just two and a half albums' time. Gaga fans forced Boy George to temporarily abandon Twitter after a barrage of often homophobic and sometimes violent messages. Adele incurred their wrath, mostly expressed via weight-shaming, simply for selling more records than Mother Monster. Gaga fans also felt compelled to inform Kelly Osbourne that she was fat, "looked like" she had AIDS and suggested she kill herself after she criticized Gaga's choice to skip the Grammy red carpet. A vendetta against Katy Perry even received the rare honor of encouragement from camp Gaga after she dressed as a mermaid -- which was totally Gaga's idea, you know. No word on how Bette Midler, who also did not invent mermaids but has dressed as one basically every show of her entire career, feels about that one. And forget about Team Lil' Kim -- it's the Lady Gaga fans who chase Nicki Minaj out of malls, claiming she "ripped Lady Gaga off"... Somehow. That last one is important. Take a moment to watch that video and you'll see why so much invective is hurled at Madonna -- and many others -- by Gaga fans. "She stands for all of us," that guy we all hope Lady Gaga does not stand for says as he chases Minaj out the door. Minaj didn't do anything to Gaga, of course, let alone to her fans. It's merely that some are so invested in the myth of Gaga that any similarity to Mother Monster is threatening to their sense of self -- no matter who did it first. This is especially problematic because, as an artist, Lady Gaga is essentially a human Tumblr account, a hauntological soup of a woman who recycles -- but rarely re-purposes -- whatever happens to catch her eye. That's fine, of course. It is impossible for anyone to be interesting without being interested, and Gaga is no exception. The reality just doesn't fit the narrative of the brilliant, inventive artiste that the Church of Gagatology has built. That is, by its nature, threatening to some people. In short, it is unsurprising that when Madonna acknowledged -- and dared to criticize -- the similarities, a million Lady Gaga fans took the web to brand her Satan. (It should be noted that even a million would be just one in 52 people who "like" Gaga on Facebook, or only one in 23 people who have actually purchased one of her albums.)" WOW. I've never seen Gaga or us dragged like this. Honestly, is this what's to come as Gaga ages? I somehow don't doubt it. Madonna wasn't very scathed either, until 1989 and on that is. I'm hoping her next album brings me back to the level I was once at. When Gaga's great, she's on fire.

Chucky 39
@farmboy, ur distaste for GaGa is not remotely similar to my distaste for Madonna. I do balance my criticisms of Madonna with plenty of ass kissin'. U however have yet to say anything good about GaGa . :laughga:

The thing I hate about articles like this though is that they make it seem that this is something that is unique to ONLY this fanbase (Monsters). While it is true that it is pervasive among the Twitter monsters, NO fanbase can say that they haven't acted like this. And I'm not JUST talking about Madonna fans, who have indeed participated as well. Britney fans, Katy Perry fans, Rihanna fans, BIEBER fans, they're all JUST as guilty and yet none of them are ever mentioned or highlighted. And for that, this is extremely biased and one-sided. It should not be looked at with much validity. As I have said multiple times before, I don't recall any occasions (in the last ten years) she has been obviously b---hy towards other people. People do change and Madonna is nothing like she was in the late 80s or the early 90s. I could name many, but even Kel's story of winning a contest and being so excited to meet Madonna back in 2005, only to have her roll her eyes at her when she mentioned that she's always been such a fan from the beginning....I don't care if she was having a long day or whatever, that's just mean. Guest theFuture
Honestly, is this what's to come as Gaga ages? I somehow don't doubt it. Madonna wasn't very scathed either, until 1989 and on that is. It is enough fans to get noticed for such behavior. It would be ignorant to pretend it is just a few fans abusing Twitter as a mouthpiece for hatred and bullying. I think that in the coming years, this will be the harshest thing she will have to face media-wise. As long as she doesn't do anything about it to make it stop, this could eventually break her neck and question her credibility as a tolerance supporter when continuously allowing fans attacking other artists on Twitter. This very modest comment regarding the Adele bullying wasn't very effective at all and was a simple answer to a question asked by a journalist. I'd like to speak her out TO her fans about this... alposnacks 1
Madonna hasn't plagiarized. Anyone can file a lawsuit. There's a difference between homage and plagiarism, and the one case that was won, in Hungary was for a song I'm sure you've not heard, because it sounds nothing like Frozen. ...Except she lost two lawsuits for Justify My Love, one for stealing the writing and another for stealing the production. So really. Also "Deep in Vogue" and "Vogue" are stupidly similar. Might be why Madonna wanted Vogue as a B-side originally. And I don't care about regurgitation. Tarantino is one of my favorite directors and all he does is steal creatively, just like Madonna, just like Gaga. It's just hypocritical of Madonna stans to rip on Gaga for being a "human Tumblr" as that article says, when Madonna practically invented that, especially with her Monroe imagery.
