Swim Deep 0
Wasn't expecting Bowie to be at #1, wow I wish No Doubt's UK comeback was this successful. [Ofc ND are no where near close to the legend that Bowie is.]
StrawberryBlond 14,304
Yikes! Sorry for the multiple quotes. Maybe it's because i'm on mobile that i can't get this quoting thing right. I agree with you on the fact that x-factor shouldn't be having her multiple times a year. Also other than the graham norton show, the brits award and xfactor, are there any other shows that can be used for promo in the uk. There's lots of shows that can be used for promotion: Daytime talk shows: Daybreak (formally GMTV), Loose Women Late night talk shows: The Jonathan Ross Show, The Graham Norton Show, Alan Carr: Chatty Man Reality tv talent shows: X Factor, Britian's Got Talent, The Voice UK, Dancing On Ice, Strictly Come Dancing Annual charity telethons: Comic Relief, Children In Need Radio broadcast festivals: Capital FM Jingle Bell Ball, Capital FM Summertime Ball Televised festivals: Glastonbury Festival, Radio 1's Big Weekend (also available on radio) Music awards shows: The BRIT awards, The EMA's (if our country is picked) There used to be Paul O'Grady's early evening shows but he's given that up now which is a shame, as Gaga even got a special dedicated to her there. Gaga did seven separate promotional appearances during her BTW era and no #1's for her trouble. She sang MTN on three major tv programmes, including X Factor and only got a peak of #16 out of it. Rihanna only did three promotional appearances for her TTT era. She only did one UK promo for Diamonds and it was after the song had debuted at #1. Little more than a month after one promo appearance for Stay, it's keeping a steady position of #4 despite having no music video and being a Rihanna ballad, something that usually doesn't go over well. Gaga works hard promoting herself, not just in the UK, but on a wider international level: Rihanna doesn't and yet radio plays her over and over and people rush out to buy her new singles. Artists who work hard should be rewarded with #1's. If X Factor ended tomorrow, I don't know how the hell Rihanna would promote herself here.

Please God, do not let these two undeserving people get #1's with little to no promotion or effort. Rihanna didn't even write that song.
