StrawberryBlond 14,263
Lotus is down to #21 in today's midweek update :/ Agreed about the OD/Little Mix comments. In regards to Little Things, I was seriously hoping this whole "dull is the new dance" phase would end, but obviously not. The sad thing is, even if she was promoted to high heaven in the UK, her name simply doesn't sell anymore. Had Rihanna sang YB, it would have been an automatic #1. YB is perfect for today's current music trends but it isn't selling because nobody cares about Christina anymore, don't like her anymore or have forgotten about her. Oddly enough, her peer, Britney, is at the same level as her too. Promotion is the name of the game in the UK and if you can't be bothered to promote here, don't expect hits. But even with promotion, it depends how much the people like you. That double performance on XF 2010 was the best promotion Christina had had in years and it still wasn't enough to get her so much as a top 40 hit or a rise in Bionic's sales. I don't know if she's secretly in bits every night over her failing career or if she's delusional and thinks she's still a force in the pop world. I mean, I saw an ad for her album on YouTube today and it declared: "Including the smash hit, Your Body." I thought it was illegal to falsely advertise something. It's weird to think of a time when Christina was huge in the UK, got #1 hits, sold out arenas and was considered the voice of our generation. It's amazing what a few years can do. I just hope the same doesn't happen to Gaga. Yeah, this was the first OD ballad as a single, so it was a huge risk, but considering its content, they just knew tween girls would lap it up and think it's so cute and "real music" and think the boys are singing to them. Barf. Even at that age, I couldn't be doing with that fake schmaltzy nonsense.

craig 680
Susan Boyle is also coming out, a week later than the US. http://en.wikipedia....yle_discography UK Sales declined from 1.88 million, to 583k, to 100k over last 3 albums. The novelty is wearing thin.

craig 680
I think Xtina's fate shows that JLo doing American Idol had nothing to do with the European success of On The Floor. The Voice is keeping Xtina within 70-75% of Bionic opening US week, but does nothing for her UK sales.

StrawberryBlond 14,263
Christina's album sales have been even worse than I predicted. In Bionic's second week, it fell to #29 and now Lotus has debuted at #28. I think the powers that be decided to toss her a bone on this one because it would just be too cruel. It just goes to show that the people who had faith in her by making Bionic debut at #1 lost that faith this time around. It's weird to think that her lowest charting album in the UK wasn't one that she took 4 years to make, but 2. Indie albums with no promotion by new, little known artists have debuted better than this this year. By the looks of things, she's not going to get a #1 anywhere in the world. It's official - she's done. For those who doubted her career was over with Bionic, Lotus confirms that they were in denial. If Bionic was the album that killed her career, Lotus was the album that buried it. Now, album predictions for this week. And there are many with a chance of #1: Amy Winehouse - Live At The BBC Example - The Evolution Of Man Little Mix - DNA Michael Buble - Christmas Deluxe Edition Nicki Minaj - Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded: The Re-Up Rihanna - Unapologetic Susan Boyle - Standing Ovation: The Greatest Songs From The Stage Whitney Houston - I Will Always Love You: The Best Of Whitney Houston I can't call it, but here goes, not in chart position, but just in order of each other - first to last: Little Mix Rihanna Michael Susan Amy Example Nicki Whitney This one was difficult. I'm probably wrong.

They both go up and down in popularity. Talk That Talk's era was about the same as Born This Way's. massive first hit, #1 album and then singles dwindled away with the exception of TEOG & WHYB
