jhonyguy04 3
"I want lots of friends that invites me to their parties" And why are ya'll hating on Judas? One of the best songs on BTW. she made some of the lyrics cheesy on purpose because she was writing that in a point of view of a teen. she even changes her tone of voice to sound younger in that part of the song on purpose. i really love that part. but i just hate the damn music surrounding it. Logically, it doesn't even make sense to believe she could sell so much. Coming off of one of the biggest hype machines in pop history, along with fuel from the biggest pop-album era in recent memory, she would have NOT even hit 800k without special deals. Now, coming from an era with negative backlash and post-"it" girl status, she's somehow going to pull that much? Actually, your numbers are the inaccurate ones. Not mine. ok from what i understand, she debuted with 1.25 million right? if you subtract 450,00, which was from the amazon sale....doesn't that equal 800,000. or am I wrong in something??? She sold 1.1 million, 440,000 coming from Amazon. Do the math.
jhonyguy04 3
I think the only way to reach 800,000 is to have an epic lead single a la Bad Romance, and when ppl preview the album on itunes, more than half the songs have to be good, which was not the case with BTW, lol. craig 680
There will most likely not be as many songs released before the actual album. Before BTW was released, we had: MTN, BTW, GH preview, Judas, Scheisse remix, Hair, Electric Chapel, The Edge of Glory, You and I. That's almost half the album. There will most likely be no Farmville promo, Amazon discount, Best Buy special, and another deal that I don't remember. If the record is released while Gaga is still touring, then there will not be a lot of promo before or during the album's release. Remember, BTW was released when TMB was over so she had time to promote properly. Why assume a lame ass effort from Gaga's team? The promo single strategy worked GREAT for BTW and Bieber, why not do it again? Maybe Interscope will come up with new promo tricks, like bundling album pre-orders with tour tickets (see Madonna). That would explain them holding off on announcing US dates. Surely Gaga will leave gaps between tour legs for proper promo. Especially if it's coming out before May. jhonyguy04 3
She sold 1.1 million, 440,000 coming from Amazon. Do the math. oh....ok then. if that is the case then she debuted with 660,000. maybe 700,000 if some ppl from amazon would have bought the album anyways. yeah, ppl are delusional and are going to be greatly dissapointed if they think she will debut with 800,000. and you know what sucks?? is that gaga set herself up for future negative press with that amazon deal. cause now when she debuts much lower, the media is gonna go crazy slamming her. oh god, gaga, sometimes your decisions frustrate me. a debut of 660,000 would have still been great if you compare it to the other pop stars. sigh.............. They'll front-load sales like crazy, but then do a ****ty job at internet promotion/etc. (what should be the easy stuff) later. craig 680
And it's a shame because "Hair" was a great song before it was killed by the production. Real Lesson - if you're going to accustom your fans to acoustic piano versions of songs, you bloody well ought to make them available on the album (as bonus tracks on something). Arturo 40,746
Negative backlash? Born This Way was praised on so many levels It's not like people are going to say "eww I didn't like Born This Way so I'm not even going to buy her new single even though it's pretty good." Americano 31,061
Negative backlash? You think the public was digesting the BTW album era well? Well, I suppose that's why a good portion of the videos could barely crack 50m views. We're going off topic however. jhonyguy04 3
Negative backlash? Born This Way was praised on so many levels It's not like people are going to say "eww I didn't like Born This Way so I'm not even going to buy her new single even though it's pretty good." trust me, the last album is an incentive on if the public will check out her new album. just look at born this way. half the songs were crappy, but it had a strong debut (even w/out the amazon sale) because of her last work. right now the only way to save her career is to do good music. no gimmicks or tricks, or super overexposed promotion. she has to do amazing like the fame monster or at least pretty damn close to it. this is her sink or swim moment, and a lot of you people dont believe me. and a good management needs to step up and control a lot of her decisions cause she can't afford many mistakes at this point. craig 680
why dont they just let the music speak for itself. if gaga wants to break records, let her music do it, please. Pop artists, like it or not, are judged partly on chart success. Charts are publicity for music. Madonna would have been an even more embarassing flop without that. I do the 99 cent single discounts for #1 if I was Katy's label too.
