imnotyourbabe10 6,100
It has that 'basic' sound to it in some respects but I'm glad its Gaga who is executing it so wonderfully and with a deeper message than that Closer song about biting your shoulder or whatever... But it also doesn't feel so heavily basic to me. Does anyone get R&B/90's/early 00's vibes from it? Or am I crazy? Not a music expert at all.

LaLuna 12,732
Maybe it'll grow on me, but I'm very disappointed. It sounds like a freaking Katy Perry song. I guess she wanted to please the fans who keep begging for radio-friendly bops The only thing I like about the song are Gaga's vocals, she sounds great. I bet the chords are rather simple (like most of her music, and most pop music), so if the production is generic (which I think it is, because to me it sounds like so many other songs from the last couple of years), the song is somewhat basic. But I bet this could be said about a lot of her music, it's just that I don't like what's popular right now, personally. I also think her lyrics has often been better than in this song. But it's really how the song is produced which is the deal-breaker for me. I hate that sound. Maybe it can be saved by her singing it while just playing the piano. crybrowz 3,247
My only problem with it is that it's quite "basic" sounding as lots of people have said. However, that probably means that it will do very well on the charts and might finally give Gaga another radio smash.
Sister 9,907
No. But I love Gaga. I hate these kinds of songs all over the radio. I don't listen to this kind of music at all. I can see why she did it though and I will always love Gaga, her self. The future's uncertain and the end is always near.
River 116,930
I'm not a fan of the tropical sound, it all sounds the same to me.. The Cure beginning reminds of a JB song, I don't remember the title.. But it's growing on me I guess.. but she needs this kind of song, she needs an easy song that you don't need to think too much about it, you just sing along and dance without caring.. So sploosh your juice all over me you Riverboy
LDGA 1,260
I do not know yet, the song sounds like something Selena Gomez or Ariana Grande would sing, i find it normal but there is something in the lyrics that catch me and makes me sing it. Right now i just hope she find the sucess we all are waiting.
A D A M 554
Well this kind of music is popular right now but for me Gaga saves everything with her vocals. It's like I was tired of Sheeran in his new hit after 2-3 plays, meanwhile I can roll The Cure over and over.
Chromatislaps 34,851
I like the vocals and lyrics but dislike the instrumental....I can't really take the tropical house sound seriously...it is an overplayed/used sound, to me most of those songs sound vapid and bland. I prefer instrumentals with a bit more body. Then again, I need to listen to it more often, it will most likely grow on me. I hope it's just this song that has this sound. I do genuinely hope this will be a big hit for her, which it seems to become
SirLudicopro 1,351
I was slayed by PI from the first listen. That song just has an insane energy, is so damn catchy and, as Gaga said it, is a big rush of adrenaline. Meanwhile, TC is a cute bop and I like it, but I think it's such an obvious attempt at getting a hit. I'm fine with it though, I think Gaga really needs a smash to keep prospering into her career, but after my first few listens, I have to say I do like Joanne more. Also, many people seem to say Joanne was not very "Gaga-esque" but TC is, but I think Joanne still had that Gaga quality to it in the lyrics and the energy, but I feel like this song has no personality and doesn't feel like something Gaga would put out. This is my opinion after less than 24 hours, this might change very quickly.
That J 12,166
It sounds like some of Gaga's unreleased songs that IVE SEEN people here stan hard for, yet say this is boring, bland, etc. So, it's a tea sipping dream come true for us that pay attention. 😜😎💙 Its a nice song, obviously a radio made type piece of music. What's different between this and other songs like it is Gaga's vocals. And the fact Lady Gaga is doing it. That will be yet another Gaga shocker to the general audience. They'll never guess that's her and, for that, I like it!! Gaga on those verses is just creamy smooth nuanced greatness. Even if you truly dislike it, ya gotta admit she put that vocal DOWN! metalguru 1,553
The Cure... I personally am not crazy for this kind of music but strategically I support The Cure big time. Yes, it is a bit generic but at least hit-generic and friendly, not off putting. She needed to relax! Pop music is also about being ridiculous and pro tempore and this song is just one chill pop hit. I am a fan of CrazyGa, Born This Way and ARTPOP are my babies but I also miss care free Gaga too. The Cure is sweet and determined to success. She can release something more interesting some other time. Now she needs to get in touch with the streaming reality. Also, she is very popular again so she shouldn't release anything polarizing. Give the masses what they want and you may run back to your special corner again. Her vocals are great! Thank god she is not screaming like a 40+ Scorpio tribute band vocalist. The Cure's peaceful and easy vocals will make Gaga accessible again.
ZephyrInTheSky 1,235
Ultimately gaga is a mainstream pop artist, so i love this. I'm more of a The Fame/Monster gaga fan anyway tbh. Its like her new "Just Dance" or "Poker Face" or something. I hope people eat it up, cause i am. There can be 99 bottoms in the area but all it takes is 1 top to believe in you.
