The thing is, she could write an absolute belter of a song, and she has many times since her peak, but if the current pop climate isn't welcoming, it's unlikely it'll become a hit. I don't think it matters at the time as she makes enough sales to fund her career.

To explain what I mean, the past couple of years has been a very saturated pop climate (if that even is the term) in the sense that a couple of genres have been the main sound and while other stuff slips in to popular music, it is overpowered by the other stuff. For example, 2015 had a lot of trap and the nineties-ish house music was huge, 2016 carried a bit of that house music over and then became more rooted in tropical house and EDM made it's big (but annoying)comeback with the SEEB and Chainsmokers style songs. Obviously there was actual pop music but unless it followed one of the major trends, the good pop songs were often pushed aside in favour of what was 'cool'.  Where as previously, even in 2013, chart music was a lot more varied in style, even if the genres were similar, it's not like 50% of the songs sounded the same. At least this is how it seems in the UK, pop/chart music seems to be getting very dull, with too many artists (mostly DJs) following trends to get popular, resulting in songs that sound very similar to other recent releases. This also leads to all these one hit wonder DJs who get one big song that's played to death on the radio and in the club but then unless you follow that type of music, you don't really hear much else about them.

It would be amazing if she could come and 'change pop music' again but I dunno if she can have a MASSIVE hit until pop music levels out a bit again. Currently, she's not particularly got an RnB sound, house/tropical sound, EDM or slow hip hop sound, so it'll probably be difficult. But again, as long as she's making good music and enough people know her and buy her music, why does it matter for now?

She was a massive change for pop music back then bringing in Avant garde weirdness and all that stuff she literally exploded into it 

Now all of that isn't that interesting or revolutionary anymore and her reinvention aka Joanne isn't also a big hit maker so idk what will happen to her I feel she just wants to get older asap so she can do only music for the matures

the truth is time is going by so fast and all these pop stars are becoming "old", they will be replaced by the arianas, fifth harmonies, little mixes, selenas, demis, mileys etc. Hopefully, her next album will be PURE pop-party- and commercial af so she can show everyone she can STILL be a succesful pop singer if she wants to. Then after that i think she'll do more jazz and maybe alternative rock

Ha believe is coming, just thinking about it makes me quiver with excitement. Because i'm that sure she's going to have that kind of record and revival.

Gaga is going through a long phase of discovering herself and i know she'll always have amazing things to say.

But her new series of hits will happen when she finds herself extremely happy or extremely miserable and sad. She's very balanced and holding her guns right now, but it wont be for too long

so, this is why i wonder if i want hits from her.

But all the stars have to be aligned, even great songs or fantastic mindblowing songs, if not the right timing, might not become a thing

she has loyal fans and older ppl in the GP who like her...

 

Young kids now neither like her or dislike her. Most just dont think about her much. And teenagers/young 20s will be biggest streamers!!!

I don't see that as a problem though. Until she starts selling albums below 100K and releases singles that do worse than PI, I'm not worrying because it can be a lot worse for her. I don't think that she has to have a younger base. 

I also don't think that a younger fanbase/streaming is a good indication of success. We think that streaming is key, but it isn't. 

A couple years ago Gaga released a jazz album with Tony. And think that should be a clear indicator that Gaga plays by her own rules. She cares about success in some ways, but like she said at the Emotion Revolution Summit, she's taking control of what she deems as success.

Well, first of all people liked it if that wasn't the case they wouldn't have bought it. And it was heavily promoted, yes, but she needed to do that because radio which is the biggest promo a song has was not playing until a little while ago.

She's just 30. And she's the queen of reinvention (I mean I've read articles where people called her that). I really think she's going to have some really big hits in future. And after the image reconstruction in 2015-17 I think it's even more possible.
