There's freedom of speech. You choose. Charts were always kinda messy but when Gaga was topping them i didn't hear any complaint about it. :awkney:

I'm all about destroying mainstream media for purposes that matter like capitalist influence creating biases which influence what stories get pushed to the public but not for the sake of Gaga getting a hit

It's not for the sake of Gaga "getting a hit", it's for the sake of people, kids mostly, or whomever uses this site as well as on twitter constantly belittling Gaga's work or the work of whomever else it may be, just because the charts and media don't eat up songs and send them straight up the chart to number one.

Pop is not all about charts, that is where people are confused, pop is about cultural impact, which is certainly attainable without having a song or album that is number one, it can be done through a lot of different mediums such as fashion, videos, political stance, etc, etc, etc.

The media isn't the one to blame for the fact that the fans aren't here for Joanne as much as they were for the music before it tho:poot:

Actually it partly is for convincing some music fans to care solely about chart performance and sales, they dwell so much on how many albums someone sells, how many views a video gets, etc, it has created this false sense of what success means, an illusion, Gaga in fact touches on the illusion with Perfect Illusion, she can see what has been created by media and people in media, social media, etc.

Never has there been so much emphasis on charts and sales as there has been since the creation of social media and youtube.

Gaga's singles' flopping got someone pressedT :awkney:

Not as "pressedT" as some fans who can't get over the fact Joanne not being a 2010 sounding dance/europop album.

Her charting has nothing to do with her attitude though. Fans lose interest because they're not getting what they fell in love with. I, for one, couldn't care less if she flopped but still deliver (a la GUY video). Her atitude threw lots of people off during ARTPOP. Then she alienated more people with her jazz era and then she alienated even more with the Joanne era because of her sound, then because of her imagery, videos and commentaries about fame. It's not media's fault that the fans don't embrace the change. Stop trying to put the blame on the media on this.

See, there's your answer. It's the fans, not the media. /thread

I understand where you're coming from. Unfortunately as is obvious from these posts, you'll only be bombarded with hate from GGD's Little Managers.

Clearly Gaga is hiring the wrong people, her many career saviours are all here on this forum :poot:

Mainstream media, the tabloids etc will never change as long as these people so desperately cling to its vapid content :neyde:

can we just get it into our heads that the magazines that put Gaga on the cover and publish her interviews and give her good reviews are also pop mainstream media...?

We  can't just label what we dislike as "media" and claim there's bias against Gaga. :nails:
