If she doesn't perform MR it will be the biggest mistake of her career and I may have my first meltdown.

The biggest mistake of her career was releasing Judas as 2nd single on easter's week. TEOG should have been the 2nd, Judas the 3rd.

Judas went 2x Platinum in the US and peaked within the top ten and had one of her most iconic videos. when will this era...

It was somehow successful, yes, but it could have been bigger. I said that the mistake was releasing it as 2nd single on easter's week. TEOG as 2nd, Judas as 3rd in May/June would have been perfect. Controversy without backlash.

Sure. I think the BTW era was fantastic. I would not call that her biggest mistake. Her biggest mistake was letting the ARTPOP era spiral out of control.

Releasing Judas as a single period was a bad mistake, but it's in the past, I was too young to know or care how it did so I'm fine. But she has one of her most gp-friendly tracks ever, and one of the biggest promo platforms ever. To see her snub it would kill me.

I highly doubt she will though, the setlist has been locked down for at least a month, they aren't changing it now. And like the good sis Americano said, they are still pushing it in newsletters meaning it will be around for at least a month.

Judas got where it was because of existing hype and controversy. The damage it did to her career really wasn't worth a 2x platinum certification imo.

I don't think i was her fault. Not completely, at least. She had lots of bad luck...too much competition, katy's feud, troy's situation, R. Kelly's situation, she was still in pain because of her hip, media was constantly bashing her and spreading ****...i mean, she was alone against the ****ing world, she has no fault on ARTPOP's underperformance.

TEOG as Born This Way's lead would have been the best thing her/her label ever did. Easily one of her most beloved and most remembered hits, despite the fact it was smaller than most of her previous singles. With Born This Way's hype, I could easily have seen it becoming her biggest hit.

Americano

BTW era was riddled with mistakes that changed the trajectory of her career from being explosive and unstoppable to halting commercial success and sometimes being relegated to a side act in the larger pop scene.

I understand Judas killed a lot of momentum and the whole era was the start of her demise, but she gave us legit the best album in her discography and great performances. Not to mention TEOG and You&I really appealed to older people and the GP.

So y'all can't come for BTW, it was a fabulous mess.

What really messed her popularity was not being able to tour in the US (because of hip) and ARTPOP sealed the deal.

Judas is the reason why Gaga lost her title as the new Queen of Pop. She hasn't had a #1 on pop radio since it's release. I LOVE judas; it was the song that made me a stan. However, I have NO idea why her team thought it was a good idea to have a third controversial single era in a row, particularly with a subject as sensitive as the person who betrayed Jesus on one of the biggest Christian holidays.

Just the same way some of ya'll need to stop overrating BTW, bc it really is not that good and def is not her best album. It has a couple of her best songs, yes, but for some of us, it is just an album.

I agree with the rest of your post. And yeah, ARTPOP, as different as it is from BTW, did not help her. Not at all.

Joanne is something that could turn the tables for her but tbh, I don't think she perceives her career the way some fans do. I believe she does not feel the need to revive antything.
