ApplauseftAdele 4,730
Some of the songs with tons of views are believable... See You Again, Uptown Funk, Gangnam Style, Party Rock Anthem were huge and dominated the charts for a LONG time, and were everywhere. but.. Roar by Katy Perry is a decent song but has 1 Billion views. The music video is nothing too special, same with Chandelier - the video is intriguing, but the song only peaked at #6, and has 1 billion views. And lets just talk about Taylor Swift.. Shake It Off and Blank Space at 1 Billion? WTF? Bad Blood at 900M? I heard that song on the radio maybe 8 times total, which isnt really a great song, and the video isn't that special, just a bunch of B-list celebs. What Do You Mean / Sorry are both gonna hit 1 Billion. Focus by ariana has 500M, even after debuting at #10. After all this, the Iconic Bad Romance only has 700M, and Applause has 200M. Do you guys think artists today buy their views or simply don't deserve them?
ViviLittleM 3
Chandelier WAS global. Not Sia's fault if US' tastes are bad.
Seeka 12,372
You do know what you hear on the radio isn't what everyone else on the radio hears? I hear a Taylor swift song every time I'm listening to the radio.
ryanripley 86,575
well taylor swift clearly aims towards ages 12 to adults which is a LOT of people using the internet and she's been very active during the domination of youtube whilst gaga's music is geared towards and much smaller, older, mature(ish) and artistic audience and hasn't been that active and heavy on the youtube side of things since 2011ish, if that makes sense however that's just one example, maybe some artists do buy views or maybe likes and followers, like Bieber had https://goo.gl/xMgMvJ
Fiona Apple 13,006
You keep saying "decent song" "isn't realy a great song".You need to understand that quality and success are different stuff. I know MANY young girls that still bop to Shake It Off,Roar etc. btw
QueenGaga 3,447
I Can't agree if views for chandelier were bought but I do believe Gaga's songs are pretty underrated cause if Roar can hit a billion than Bad Romance should be on 2 billion. I think some artists do buy views especially Taylor and Katy. Even if they're not bought i think those views are by blinded people with no actual sense of music
OBEY 57,109
Theyre all the biggest recent hits so i dont think the views are bought. If applause had 1 billion views now that would sound fishy to me
Lucas 27,167
Taylor's views might not be that fake actually.... Shake It Off = hit, Blank Space = hit & a lot of people loved the video, Bad Blood got a lot of publicity & the guests in the video helped a lot aswell. Chandelier also got a lot of publicity & everyone seemed to love the music video & the dancing/emotions of the girl. Now about Katy, it's true that Roar is boring as **** and is another look took from Katy Keene, idk why it got 1bil views+... Now Dark Horse was a hit too & got controversy because she burnt Allah in it (but it's funny that the video was edited and it still has the same views right?) Brian Ryan 1,468
No. There are fans who watch the video 300+ times and even make threads to get a video to 100,000,000. why would they? There's nothing to gain by buying views. They would only be taking away from their money that they will receive because of the views. Most people just don't watch a video cause a lot of people seen it... it's because of the song. All of those videos you don't I love and heard those songs a lot. I love ****ing Roar video I watched it a lot people have different taste, eh...

I'm pretty sure vevo accounts have the ability to edit/reupload videos and keep the likes/comments/views the same was NickARTPOP
