If they were, we would be looking at far better updates for GUY... And no, I don't believe Applause had payola neither, a radio deal is something else which too didn't work for Applause because it leaked one week earlier.. The rest I absolutely detest. POM/TOTGA/WA I only like TOTGA, Starstrukk, Teenage Dream (the song only) and ET video aka 3 songs. I also can tolerate Firework and Uncle. Just think about it Roar only had about 60 million more (?) AI with tons of payola than Applause did, yet you all are freaking out about how Gaga's career is dying. Face it, G.U.Y. wasn't a good single choice. I hope just because it doesn't do well that Interscope does not drop this album. These people used to spin Gaga 24/7 and gave her nonstop #1s on Top 40 yet you're gonna say they personally have an issue with her? Radio stations are paid by listener count for the advertisements they air. They only play songs that sound like hits to maximize their revenue. Just stop the baseless attacks. The fact it never went Top 100 and then continued falling on iTunes with airplay increases (esp when compared to Birthday, which is higher with comparable airplay and no video AND that single has a weak ratio itself) was a pretty big sign..
