VforVendetta 2,024
Yes, except the Children of Húrin What are your thoughts on Ungoliant and her origins ? It is described in the book that she was born from the darkness that Melkor firstly unleased in Arda and she is made from pure drkness. I love the fact that she devours light and that in the end she devoured herself. Also the story of how she tried to take The Silmarilies from Morgoth and The Balrgos came out from Angband and scared her away is one of my favorites. Yes it's a very interesting story. She had a power even over Melkor it would have consumed him, if not for the cry that summoned the Balrogs to help him We going to boo

She had a power even over Melkor it would have consumed him, if not for the cry that summoned the Balrogs to help him Probably not, since she wa snot a creation of illuvatar but of Melkor and he didn;t have access to the flame. It's also a creature of darkness and we know that illuvatar never created such creatures.

PG lol 277
SOOOOO hyped for the film I've been seriously impressed by the films so far. Although I do get a little annoyed when things are different from the book, the movies more than make up for it in other ways. :)

Most of the things that are not in the book are not fake though. Most of them excist in The Unfinished Tales and Silmarillion.

Most of them excist in The Unfinished Tales and Silmarillion. With the things like Gandalf in Dol Guldur and Radagast I definitely do appreciate. I think it gives the films more substance. If only they would do an entire series of movies about the whole of the Silmarillion :nooo: :)
discotommy 0
Tolkien is by far my most beloved author. I am constantly interested (even if I've already read the book numerous times). I've recently breezed through the Silmarillion, The Hobbit and The Children of Hurin (a film version would slay, as would a film of The Silmarillion). I am currently rereading LOtR and it blows me away every time. I've never been more intrigued and interested in an author or their works before. Not to mention, Peter Jacksons adaptations (while different in various ways) are masterpieces, pure masterpieces. I've never been more in love with a film franchise before.
