Because Gypsy is a boring, noisy song that strongly resembles MTN while Venus is a song which already has a well-planned era and because most of us and our friends/family prefer Venus over Gypsy. Dark horse has the ****tiest message ever and yet it's probably going to be #1 Blurred lines was a terrible message yet was number 1 for like 3 months Why? These songs have good beats People want something that sounds good before they listen to the vocals MTN 2.0 may not be the smash you're hoping it will be Hell, Venus may not be either But nothing on the radio sounds like Venus at all BTW was deemed a mess, and yet was still number one and is one of her more iconic songs Why shouldn't we be glad that there is a chance that Venus will smash? I still think that other songs will make better singles like G.U.Y - and Donatella is definitely a risk I'm willing to take. I liked Venus as a promotional single, but it clearly didn't do well then (yes, it went up but went back down quickly)... Gypsy without any promotion went into the top 100 when the album was sold at first. I would like to say, though, that I can see the video for Venus being VERY epic, unlike a Gypsy one.. maybe that will make it a good single?
