Especially the VMA's which is what saved it from falling out of the Top 10 on iTunes and eventually led to a 14 week run in the Top 10. So it's not like everything she did, the public just said "No thank you" However, I guess it's debatable for the DWUW promo. I don't deny Applause's success. I'm just saying that promo won't do much if the public doesn't like the song. She's had more than enough of promotion and the album still underperformed. People don't like it. And they also don't like things they dislike popping out of their fridge, so more promo would be too much promo. Same with DWUW, it's got everything it should to become a hit but it didn't. People like us will hardly watch SNL or GMA etc.. they all know about Roar/WB etc.. because the songs are just big, while Gaga has like 0 presence right now ... a lot of people don't even know about Applause And now DWUW being videoless doesn't help either ... If people don't like the music and don't like Gaga, she won't succeed, simple as that. If the music is good, people will buy it, with promo or not. i know the promo wasnt lacking to me, people not buying the song was the problem. People just don't like the song and Idk why. You're right, her promo in Europe is inexistent. Especially when you compare it to the BTW promo.
