Luc 4,775
ARTPOP not discounted How are we (chart lovers) can not be disappointed when this era is not being handled properly? an era we've been waiting for for 2 years, an era that was promised to be a smash era. Gaga's making it even worse by not even doing or saying anything. Because yeah, it's what it is. Of course I'm not happy, but it's more because of the name 'Lady Gaga' attached to the songs that it's not doing well. I can't lame the promo or radio for DWUW pretty much flopping in the US, as she's done 3 shows with a good amount of viewers. It's just that the public simply doesn't like Gaga and won't buy her material because it's Gaga.

GypsyGaga 0
I'm not so into Pitbull, but I've always been secretly pining for a collab w/ Rihanna. I was totally disappointed when Gaga confirmed Rih wouldn't appear on the album. I don't know if it's something she's particularly into, but it's a nice idea. I don't see how it wouldn't hit at least.

Like It Rough 144
I don't understand this Christmas-iTunes thing, gift cards etc, but if DWYW falling because of Christmas, it will rebound later when holidays are over.

Mr Worldwide 305 stuff about countries he visited stuff about rags to riches name drop a current celebrity DALE! omg, i know i hate pitbull, i feel annoyed when i listen to his music. this thread is getting out of hand again lol, i thought that DWUW falling was discussed already, and the ARTPOP songwriting (good or bad) is subjective and should be discussed in another thread not in the chart one. Luc 4,775
Totally not true. They bought Applause despite it being "Lady Gaga" ARTPOP is still selling in the Top 20 despite being "Lady Gaga" 'They'? Applause has sold 2M in the US, that means that 1 in 160 US citizens bought Applause. Of course lots of people pirate music, but fact is, Gaga's image is nearly ruined and it's not improving much at the moment. Therre are so many people Gaga's pissed off last 2 years, next to her fans, media, pop fans, or more general groups such as people who are against fur, people who are against d--gs, people who don't want to see a naked Gaga twerking or their children to possibly see that, religious people, etc. All of it adds up, and every move she lost (valuable) fans and general public respect and 'coolness'. And it shows in her sales and airplay. We were lucky Applause became a hit in the US.
X Dreams 94
I'm honestly just pressed because DWUW is SUCH a good song. It DESERVES to smash... tbh if it were any other song I wouldn't nearly be pressed. I'm just happy that we got amazing performances like the AMAs and The Voice. Those alone made the single worth it to me!
Arturo 40,746
Anyways, I'm predicting 140,000 for WW sales on Friday based on ratios from the US, UK, and Japan 35k+21k+10k=66k WW sales turned out to be 118,000 and 66k from those 3 countries was 56% of the total sales So since this week it's 53k+18k+7k=78k 78k divided by .56 is ~140,000 Let's hope it works out that way, or more :laughga:

But the hits she may score with the next singles won't just be luck. It'll be from people actually enjoying the song like they did with Applause.
