A lot of people don't know the difference between promo and official singles, and a LOT of people don't know about Venus (really all the promo it's gotten was Gaga tweeting the lyrics). I think most of the GP who is aware of DWUW thinks they released a promo single, it did well, and they decided to make it an official single. What's wrong with that? My one real problem is the video being restricted. That's going to affect its chart performance. If they get it fixed this morning then that's fine, we're only one day behind. But if it continues into Thursday, we're getting into 'screwed' territory. But if radio picks it up and plays it in earnest once the Katy Perry Day of Slayage is over, then I'm confident it will still do well. too bad radio isn't picking this up any time yet .. Z100 and KIIS just put APPLAUSE into Power Rotation again this week. so no way they will jump onto DWUW at least until next week It's a bit surprising that the PRISM tracks aren't flooding the top 20 on iTunes. At this time of the week, Taylor Swift had already dominated the top 10 during the release of Red. And worse, KP has only one song within the top 10. The better side of it is that it's the lead single which has yet to leave the top 6 since its release. Impressive. this mean that people aren't really here for her album ... they don't even bother to check her new album. they will just buy whatever radio hits being played endlessly on radio when they are released. Yeah, the regular version is already out of the top 15. I guess I've to lower my predictions for its opening week sales. 400K at most? JT's 20/20 V2 opened decently huge without a successful single but it has multiple versions floating around the top 10 during its debut week. PRISM has the complete opposite scenario so far. Besides that, they should have kept Venus as the second single for sure! I always thought it was silly of them to release a promo single the week after releasing the official single, even when we thought Venus was the official. It's just undermining your own promo; you're spreading yourself too thin.
