thots & opinions on 'Stop! That! Train!'?

I came across Stop! That! Train! recently, and it honestly caught me by surprise because I hadn't heard anything about it all year. I never saw any teasers, trailers, or promotion for it, so it completely flew under my radar.

I watched it yesterday, and as a queer comedy—more specifically, a drag queen comedy—I thought it was pretty funny. It does exactly what it's trying to do.

My only complaint is that the posters and marketing make it seem like RuPaul has a much bigger role than they actually do. RuPaul doesn't appear that much or really get a chance to shine, while the other drag queens are the ones who carry the movie from start to finish.

Has anyone else seen it?

Could be much better but I enjoyed it. I was expecting it to be even more absurd but maybe they thought it would scare people off and tried to tone it down to make it more mainstream?

The drag queens did an amazing job and I love Rachel Bloom.

Jujubee will snatch that Oscar for best actress yup yup

 

Edit: I hope they make more! Not sequels, but campy comedy movies with our talented queens.

watched it opening night with a room full of gheyz so it was super fun! 

has a lot of replay value for me so i'm def gonna buy a copy to add to my library of campy movies

There were about 10 other gays in the theatre when I went and when I would laugh it echoed throughout the room. Embarrassing as hell. Was really good and funny and I had a lot of fun but the use of AI really ruined what could’ve been a gay classic!

As a big fan of Drag Race and Ru, I found it extremely underwhelming. It was overall amusing enough but really lacked comedic value. I was hoping for something closer to the masterpiece that is Barb and Star Go to Vista Del Mar but it very much fell short.

Hmm, in a way it had some good jokes, but in the end I actually never laughed not even once while watching it.
