Honestly, I struggle to understand hype around Troye Sivan; I seriously don’t find his music appealing. I tried multiple times but never clicked. So, my question is - the hype around Troye Sivan even legit, or manufactured? What do you feel about this artist?

Certainly not manufactured. Troye started as a YouTuber and built up a massive following through that, then started posting a few covers and songs he wrote and got signed as his sound was very different. This was around the time of Lorde's debut so every label was looking for the next 'alternative' star'.

His music started as being darker and more edgy (listen to 'Happy Little Pill', his debut song), but he's grown into a modern popstar. Kind of crazy how big he is now in the music scene considering he started as a YouTuber in the same gang as Tyler Oakley, Connor Franta & Zoella generation.

He has got a couple good songs but I wouldn't say he has a lot of hype, a lot of that also just came from the Brats era tbh

Troye is amazing! His music isn't groundbreaking, but it's really fun and uplifting and gay. I got into his music around 2018 when he did My My My, Bloom and Dance to This with Ariana. And then Something to Give Each Other turned me into a stan. That album takes me right back to summer 2023. I'm actually really looking forward to his next project, whenever it comes.
