Garden of Eden should’ve been the 1st single

I feel like out of the entire album, Garden of Eden would’ve performed best as a lead single. It’s super catchy and a great 2000s throwback while still having a Gaga twist. Disease on the other hand was far too jarring for the gp and even I think it’s a weaker song compared to others on the album.

Garden of Eden would have performed similar to Disease, especially without promo support.

Mister Gaga

It would’ve felt weak. Disease, though not radio friendly, is a monster. It stated, loud and clear, that Gaga was not coming to play. And she cleary didn’t!!

GOE isn't anymore radio friendly than Disease either imo

Anyone who complains about Disease should have their posting rights removed. That is one of Gaga's best songs TO DATE and I'll always take quality over success when it comes to singles.

Disease was the perfect choice. Powerful chorus, vocals and instrumental. I think Garden of Eden is a bit noisy and repetitive but not a bad song at all, would've been an interesting choice.

I can also already hear some fans here being like "but Garden of Eden leaked like Stupid Love she should've picked a different lead". :icant:

She didn't need commercial success with the first single tbh. It's what she wanted to put out and set the story for Ms. Mayhem. If anything GOE is way more basic and flippant (yes it's a bop but she wanted to give meaning).

This puta is everywhere right now, and is going to sell out a stadium tour without question. This idea about chart success and the GP is so dated and unnecessary - if anything this rollout has solidified her as an icon who's untouchable.

I think she put Disease first for the fans, not gp

And for the public to forget FAD :brat:

With the non existent promo they gave the lead, no matter which song they released, it would've been the same thing (especially if we consider when they decided to release it) :nooo:

It's mostly Interscope's fault for being incompetent and also Todd Phillips and WB's fault because Joker had a terrible effect at that time
