Christianity doesn't get to rape, pillage, colonize, and traumatize the entire world and then cry about it when people thumb their nose at them. that's such a stupid katy perry quote when she's literally the fart joke of pop music. Christianity also supported the education of a lot of people and gave food to the homeless. This is such a one sided take. It's not as black as white as you paint it. 1
Sneaky Oliver 21,596
No hate towards Ava but who’s buying an Ava Max custom-made, black beaded rosary? unless they have a lot of extra coins in their pockets

Not you mistaking my reference to a dumbass Katy Perry tweet as some kind of criticism against Ava Max's stupid ass rosary. It's really and truly not that deep.

Just Christianity? What about Judaism, Islam and all the other religions that cause so much pain and suffering under the guise of faith? I don’t think Ava max is thumbing her nose to organized religion releasing this. Half the time artists like Gaga or Madonna weren’t either, but instead just used Catholicism as an aesthetic for their respective eras. I can understand why someone like Katy Perry, who grew up super sheltered and religious, literally getting food and clothing donations from their church, would have this opinion at the time. People have a different relationship with faith when it was integral to their survival, especially in their formative years. I would bet money that a lot of current country or even African American artists think it’s offensive when religion or god is used like this. I rarely, if ever, have seen someone like Beyoncé reference religion in any way close to Gaga or Madonna have because it would turn a lot of her fans off and she’s knows that. Ava (and to a lesser extent Gaga) have the disadvantage that by the time Madonna etc were done with blasphemy it was so tired by the time they got round to it themselves. stream ritacadabra
