She didn’t make a joke about anything though.

the cop instructed her to take care of the pot of water. As she walked to the sink to pour it out she noticed the officer start to back away and she said “where are you going?” And he said “away from you and ur hot water” and then she was shocked and offended he would see her as a threat so she said “I rebuke you” .  There was no joke and no threat or any implication on her end that she would throw water @faysalaaa

Im not Christian or American but I though when she said I rebuke you in the name of Jesus, it implied she would throw holy water on him or something. I was watching a crime podcast and they said something like that. I could be wrong..?

Hes in the wrong anyway even if that joke was a threat, even if she actually threatened him.

No. To say you rebuke someone is not threatening them. It means you disapprove of them. She was a Christian woman so for her to add on “in the name of Jesus” to the end of a sentence is not threatening at all either- it just means “I resent you soooo much for what you just did”. 
The cop backed away and said “away from you and ur water” implying she would do something to hurt him and she was clearly offended by him assuming she was capable of being a violent person. That’s why she said “I rebuke you” , again rebuke meaning you disapprove , reject, resent, disappointed etc

What would u get from having normal everyday cops having guns as someone who lives in the UK where these supposed 'crazy gun laws' exist the police are perfectly fine without them and can do there job just fine the only thing u would get from everyday cops carrying guns in the UK is a level of distrust and unease from the general public due to the recent actions from the police in the UK. Cops are more dangerous with guns and should not carry them.

In my head, and what the norm is in my country, cops need to have a high level authority, and they cant practice that authority around criminals if they dont have a gun. But I do admit I dont know much about the UK laws and how positive or negative its been.

they would absolutely abuse their guns if they had them without a shadow of a doubt

there has been some speculation that the cop that shot her was the one sneaking around her house and is the reason why she called the police in the first place 

his wife is also a nurse at the hospital where Sonya would go for care, makes me wonder if the couple knew her prior? maybe they had a poor interaction that led to the cop ending up at her house

Even if she threatened him with boiling water, removing himself from danger, and simply... walking away? would've been the sensible course of action, in my opinion. If the officer considered that the woman's behaviour was erratic, and her demeanor suggested to him that she intended to throw that water against him, he could've de-escalated the situation by simply removing himself from her reach. 

That way, if she was having a manic episode, he could've called for backup, and she could've gotten the professional assistance she required at the moment. I understand that, in that context, he was most likely afraid for his physical integrity, but proper training should've given him the tools to avoid a fatal outcome; yet he chose the most extreme, lethal way to "resolve" the conflict he was presented with. 

No other people were in danger, so all he had to do was to walk outside the house. As an outsider, this is just text book excessive use of force, and police brutality, in my opinion.
