There are lots of shitty jobs in this world, trying getting yelled at in a customer service call center for someone else's mistakes without ever getting a single tip.

The people that choose these jobs must like it. I would suggest a higher minimum  base rate to be required for all restaurants and then tips can just be bonuses. But I doubt that will happen.

Time is money, mistakes are expensive. Somebody ends up paying for it. If someone can't get an order right and walk it to the correct table, maybe it's the wrong job for that person. I'm not their entire paycheck, usually just one table out of many. Screw up my table no tip, hopefully they did the others correctly.

A good service starts with the customer attitude, when you smile first, when you say thank you, they will give you their world, but when you treat them like sh-t with the first step in the restaurant, don't expect them to bow down to you, mistakes happen, pretty sure you did plenty.

Even in a 3 Michelin stars restaurants there are mistakes trust me.

The people who choose these jobs are mostly students, single parents, immigrants, people without a degree or even school graduation and at the end, we need people to do these jobs and thanks to them the systems works perfectly, hiccups and problems happens, but you still need to be a decent human being and wait for them to solve these problems for you.

Your money is not that special, remember that.

And as costumer, you do the same to these people, knowing how shxtty of a job it is already. Why is that? Is it entitlement?

If your server was horrible and rude I would understand not tipping, but bringing out the wrong order is a simple mistake. They have a stressful job and have several tables to keep track of.

But what if you say order a sandwich with no mayo because youare allergic to it and you told the waiter this but then they still bring you a sandwich with mayo is it still a mistake or a health risk

at first it's a mistake, a good waiter will apologize and take the order back and tell the kitchen they got the order wrong. waiters aren't responsible for the cooking and food prep

if the waiter is rude and doesn't help, that's bad service

mother, what must i do?

... it's still a mistake. And it's probably not even a mistake the server made. They don't make the food.

And the whole "tips should be earned" thing is so gross. Servers work for less than minimum wage and get most of their pay through tips. Sure, if a server is rude or nasty, then don't tip. Being a server is a highly stressful and underpaying job, it's not just writing things down and walking food to a table.

It's been an open secret that he's a pretty horrible person with a massive ego for years even before he got big in the US. Kinda wish the owner didn't unban him, It sent the right message.
