I think it's supposed to be a bit ironic, as someone above pointed out, pointing out that no one blinks an eye at a 35-40 year old guy dating a 25 year old woman but freaks out if the reverse happens. whore 11,447 Posted April 24, 2022 Share Posted April 24, 2022 To restate what everyone else has been saying, it’s using a tongue-in-cheek level of ironic humor to make you think she’s going to be writing an anthem for the cougar women, but when you get to the chorus, she sings “I like ‘em young like me.” She’s definitely writing about someone she knows who is into older men, as the second verse says “why are you judging me when your guy is turning 53” and “my guy is gonna outlive yours.” i think it’s funny, definitely suits her sense of humor.
