Then change your thread title to "MY comprehensive list of MPGs"

that’s implied with the use of the word ‘a’:partysick:

the title isn’t ‘THE comprehensive list of MPGs’, it’s ‘A’:madge:

kelly clarkson and shakira havr patchy careers, they get a hit or two here and there but lack consistency

Whenever, Wherever, Hips Don't Lie and Waka Waka blow out of the waters CAREERS. In terms of succes and cultural impact, Olivia, Miley or even Dua Lipa are no match in any way to Shakira.

let’s not act like olivia rodrigo doesn’t deserve a place on this list lol, she has one of the biggest debut eras in years, easily on par with One Of The Boys or The Fame.

Olivia is still far from a household name and mostly known by teens. For all we know, it's within the realm of possibility that Olivia won't produce any more hits with her second album (it's also likely that she will, but to say that someone whose first hit happened like a year ago is a MPG.. is a bit weird).

Miley has had consistent success and relevancy, and she fits my criteria.

Miley is a big name to younger demographics for obvious reasons lol, general members of the public barely know who she is.. wherease everybody older or younger has heard of Madonna, Lady Gaga or Beyonce. Miley had Wrecking Ball as a very huge hit.. and then moderate-sized hits in certain countries like Malibu and Midnight Sky.. I don't see the MPG in her again. But if you indeed include Olivia and Miley, you have no excuse for not including Shakira or Gwen.

doja is amazing and has a lot of potential, but it feels like she still has a lot of untapped potential and has something to prove. if she can get another solid solo hit, i’d definitely add her

This is a bit subjective, I personally don't agree with the artistic choices of most MPGs.. this doesn't mean they are not succesful artists. The idea that an artist needs to prove itself is deeply subjective and related to your own expectations rather than something objective. I can recognize Doja is everywhere at the moment, and I don't even follow her or like her music.

but fergie only has one successful solo album and same with nelly

Not counting Black Eyed Peas (though she did sing the hooks), she has had many hits like London Bridge, Fergalicious, Glamorous, Big Girls Don't Cry and even MILF (what a bad song tbh). She was a distinctive figure for the R&B/ pop sound before the electro-pop wave started, and was, again, played a lot on the radio.

Avril Lavigne’s legacy is still referred to today too.

Moreover, Avril and Britney were described as the pop and anti-pop duo of 2000s music (image and style-wise they were the opposite of each other, one with accesibile music and and the other one more alternative and angsty). When Billie and Ariana had music at the same time, many people made a parallel with Avril and Britney.
