I mean yes it is but eating less fat will make it easier to get lean (idk the data behind it but I have heard this advice from both trainers and nutritionists), & possibly improve digestion as you may also be a little bloated or carrying water weight?

Its funny cuz ive also heard its carbs u gotta reduce foremost to loose weight hence the keto diet craze but tbh i think at the end of the day ur caloric balance is the biggest factor i would think
