ctherainbow 3,162 Posted January 6, 2021 Share Posted January 6, 2021 With just DeKalb County’s remaining estimated votes, at Ossoff’s current 82.5% share in that county, he would move ahead of Perdue by about 20,000 votes. Henry County’s remaining votes should more than cancel out Coffee County’s remaining GOP votes, so Ossoff should be good to go, barring any extremely anomalous vote dumps from urban counties. Most recounts don’t move more than several hundred votes, though, so he should survive the recount, if the remaining vote trends hold. I'm talkin' 'bout forever, baby. We might get a Ossoff recount, but keep in mind it is very rare for a recount to change a vote by more than 1,000 votes or so. NYT projects that DeKalb county is going to give Ossoff 30,000 more votes slowly through the night, and if Ossoff leads by 22,000 or more votes, there will not be a recount.
