Meaning that Joe Manchin would effectively have the power to block anything he wanted by voting with Republicans giving them 51-49. What has he achieved in thirty years in the Senate That the subject matter like universal healthcare, green new deal, and AOC being in congress (who has shifted the conversations being had quite a bit) are all testaments to his impact. Not all achievements in politics are measured in # or bills written and passed. He’s definitely left his mark. Don’t be so cynical. And since I read your other comments, this is in reply to those as well. Those “hardworking democrats” don’t actually know or care about people outside their donor class. This isn’t me giving some working class hero stump speech. I know these folks. I know folks around these folks. It isn’t outright hatred, that’s cartoonish. But they are so incredibly out of touch and have been that they don’t even know what they’re serving for anymore in actual terms. Diane Feinstein is a great example of that.
