Sorry for my weird take on this issue.  I think it's a smart decision -- better to be safe and protective of those who have been abused and victims of non-consensual filming or are underage.

On the one hand, as is evidenced by this thread alone, the gays (and I'm assuming straights too) are hyper-sexualized in our post-modern late stage capitalist society.  I hope that society moves toward less pørnorghraphy and toward erotica in its place (see feminist icon Gloria Steinem's commentary on the move to erotica instead of pørn.  As well as Andrea Dworkin's radical thoughts on the issue, too).

On the other hand, I understand we live in an individualistic world and that people are lizard brained at the end of the day -- and our base instincts come out with sexuality --  so we can never fully eradicate the problematic sides of hyper-sexualization and consumption.  Not saying "if you can't beat them, join them" (no pun intended, lol) but making a safer world for sex workers (and consuming pørn or erotica ethically) is the right thing to do.

I say all this as a queer, leftist, hippy and someone who still watches pørn.

You know the alternative can be like... hmm let me think... simply deleting THOSE videos and not literally everything? Why are yall acting morally superior about this. They can very easily require newly uploaded videos to be checked by a human to make sure they don't contain any abuse or illegal stuff, and hire people to go through flagged videos and delete them. I don't see how this would have cost them more money in terms of salaries than the millions of dollars they're going to lose by deleting 75%+ of their content and pushing users to other platforms.
