I think thats just a thing in human society then. Apparently, No one young can rule and lead apparently...

In the US nobody is going to be brave enough to say an age limit should be set because the most reliable voters are the elderly. They turn out in the highest numbers so offending them in any way is the last thing any politician or party is gonna want to do.

We really need to work on getting more young people to vote! It's crazy that old people are still the biggest voters. No wonder our country has Trump currently.

I think it also has to do with the fact that the younger generations is stigmatized as young and uneducated (which I understand to a degree) and the vast majority of the electorate (middle aged+ voters) dont trust the younger generations so they cling on to older career politicians that seem moderate in their eyes simply because they've grown used to having them around most of their lives. (Even though trump isn't a career politician, he's been such a re occurring figure in economic and pop culture for decades).

So wait, this was accidentally published?

I’m assuming they had an article pre written in case he had COVID? Is that correct?

Pre-written articles don't normally include tweets. You don't want headlines like this to leak out through other teams in the company, especially for items this big. They'd know about it when it was about to be actually released, so I assume they were either told Mike was about to announce it, and didn't, or they knew that he had it and anticipated a release because the leaks would eventually out him. Just wait, I'm sure someone will confirm it tomorrow. (just in time for the weekend, where the news can't report on it as major headlines for 2 days)

Thing is, it'd take a constitutional amendment to add an age limit. We aren't anywhere near that kind of agreement on anything to even have it be a reality, so why would any politician bring it up whether they'd lose support or not? We have to break one way or the other in terms of this 50/50 red/blue fight to get anything done for a while.

It's more so that titans of the senate/presidency aren't retiring at normal ages anymore. When you're trying to run a primary against candidates that have had 30+ years of headline-level name recognition, you're climbing a steep cliff.

Petie Estie

don't publications make draft posts like this for likely events all the time? just in case? I don't think it means they have inside info. Although I do believe that if he did test positive, they wouldn't tell anyone.
