Emvee 8,832 Posted August 27, 2020 Share Posted August 27, 2020 The fact of the matter is that we rely FAR TOO MUCH on police force to solve societal issues that are rooted in racism, corruption, and greed. We have decades, and arguably the entire history of this country, of leaders deliberately excluding black Americans from obtaining education, property, and therefore wealth. It is time the entire country - not just democrats - understand this. What is happening right now is a direct result of America’s failure to ever FULLY acknowledge its racism. It is the reason America is the only industrialized country to not have basic human welfare programs as we see in Scandinavia and Western Europe. I know very well that playing devils advocate is an important function in debate. Despite being a democrat I find myself arguing the other side just for the sake of it to better understand both sides. Playing devils advocate & seeing it from other sides is extremely important & helps deepen understanding, so maybe instead of flat out implying that anyone who disagrees with you is racist maybe try to see something from any other perspective that isn’t yours?
