Outdated thinking holds Nations back Protectionism hasn't been a good idea for almost 100 years and trickle down economics pretty much stopped working in the 1970s The modern economy above all requires technical skills education to fix skills mismatch issues (the biggest thing holding back the economies full potential), infrastructure spending, and more progressive taxation because in the modern economy the direct correlation between GDP and Productivity gains with wages is greatly deminished which is one of the reasons trickle down economics is no longer effective.
