Yeah the issue is lack of planning and preparation

 

Many right wingers like Trump use Economic ideas that worked in the 1950s or 1970s they don't work now. Outdated thinking holds Nations back

 

Protectionism hasn't been a good idea for almost 100 years and trickle down economics pretty much stopped working in the 1970s

 

The modern economy above all requires technical skills education to fix skills mismatch issues (the biggest thing holding back the economies full potential), infrastructure spending, and more progressive taxation because in the modern economy the direct correlation between GDP and Productivity gains with wages is greatly deminished which is one of the reasons trickle down economics is no longer effective. The Government pretty much has to force wealth circulation from the top now
